Thanks Kris and Gevonovich
The sheath and cap are stitched up the middle of the back. I'm pretty sure this style of sheath is not made that often nowadays, the only references I have found are late 19th early 20th century. I'm loving these different sheaths and learning something new and different.

Best regards

Robin

WOW, most excellent Robin

Is that a scandi grind? What steel did you use? I like that one a lot, well done sir :)

Hi Rockgolfer
Yes it's a scandi grind, a Finnish blade that I bought. I'm going to grind some blades as soon as the snow and ice are gone and I can get to my steel stash ;-(
These blades are quite amazing, the sharpest blades I've ever used. I have one blade that I'm about to use that is heat treated to rockwell 63 at the edge and rockwell 53 on the back and tang. Makes me wonder why all the hoopla over these new "super steels" considering these are early style carbon steel. ;-))

Best regards

I certainly look forward to seeing the results of your future grinding sessions. To hold you over until you can reach your steel I have a bar of s-30v you can have to experiment with if you would like?

A little kryptonite for the man of steel

Very cool lookin' covers! I'm really coming around on the acrylics...:cool:

I see your Superman and raise you a Green Hornet! :D Here's a Fruitport on top of a vintage lunchpail that a friend picked up for me at an antique shop years ago...

Looks like a backwoods, FES. Very nice indeed. That pile would make Ailce proud!

Happy Easter to you, Rinos. Great looking table!!

Here's one for Resurrection Sunday, and old Queen that I re-handled in Palm after the original black handles got loose.
