I was just going through my truck to get a pic of all the “just in case” knives that have accumulated in my truck over the years for another post and thought it would be cool to see all the knives BF members have accumulated in their vehicles “just in case” you walked out the house without a knife or that your leave in your vehicle so as to not use the holy grail in your pocket or for whatever reason your stockpiling in your vehicle.

So let’s see some pics of what ya got hiding in ya truck/car and why they are there!!

Pretty much all of mine accumulated in my truck to have a beater available rather than using my higher end knives. However, as of today I’m working on using my higher end knives more but I think I’ll keep these in the truck just in case!

I can't muster the energy to rummage around the 4Runner with my strained hamstring...but I know I have several tools with cutting edges including:

A (locking) British military issued SAK or two
Ontario RTAK
Becker Brute
2 or 3 Gransfors Bruks axes from small to large
Bahco folding saw

I may be forgetting something...but that's what comes immediately to mind.

(Extra ammo for my daily carry.)

Gonna need some pics of those once that hammy looses up!

I have to ask, what does sak stand for. I know what they are but can’t figure out the abbreviation for the life of me.

Off the top of my head I have an OD Gritilian in D2, a cold Steel working man, Victorinox One Handed Trekker, a homemade prison style knife I cobbled together from a spent sawzall blade, a cold steel special forces shovel, a cold steel trail boss, and a tramotina machete.
Along with some basic tools, a couple bottles of water, a Springfield XD9, and a NAA .22 revolver.
Some spare ammo for both, a couple lighters, and I think there is also a RAT-1 in the console.

Obviously other less interesting things knocking about in the Sierra as well.

Just gonna have to keep this thread alive for a while, with a steady drip of pictures. Could even turn it into a videodoc: parody some kind of nature show sneaking around in the forest looking for some kind of jumpy animal, but instead, it's just Blues, rummaging through corners of his battle wagon, looking for hidden knives.

Just my Blackhawk! CQD, sometimes throw in a Leatherman PST or a SOG Power tool.

I would, but the front facing camera on my phone has been broken for almost two years, and Imgur is very tricky/frustrating to use for me.
I would be more inclined to posting pics here if it were easier to upload straight from a mobile phone and not have to use a third party.
Photobucket was easy enough for me, but Imgur is an effort in futility for this guy.

mitchnola, you don't have enough knives in your truck. Notably missing is a fixed blade. Every truck needs at least one fixed blade knife. Preferrably a big one!
Funny ya say that because I’m not a big fixed blade guy, at least not yet, but I’ve been thinking I need a nice fixed blade to keep in the truck. Your absolutely right!

Not running out to clean the truck right away, but I do have an accumulation.

A Gerber gator machete stays tucked between the driver seat and center consol. When I started getting more into (actual) knives and accumulated a few "better" machetes from Ontario, Tramontina, and Condor, I wasn't going to just toss it, so it became the truck machete.

A Smith & Wesson border guard is stashed in the side door. A Kilimanjaro with a gut hook was great for cutting open shrink wrap at a previous job, but when I left that job in 2020 and cleaned out my locker, it became "lost" in the center consol. And a cheap rubber handled "stainless?" China made Mora-esque knockoff is stuffed in my glove box. One day at Wallyworld just walking the aisles, they had a box of 'em in the hunting section, maybe 12 left?, on clearance for like $2/ea, so I bought 'em all. There's also a Stihl hatchet (made by German brand Ochsenkopf or Oxhead in English) stashed under the backseat along with a poncho and 2 pair of dry socks. Picked it up on sale for $20 one day while at the local equipment rental shop.

All the basic needs are covered for sure, with some redundancy, "just in case", and if ever my truck gets broken into and they all get stolen, it'll piss me off for sure that it happened, but won't break my heart (or bank) on what was lost.

About a decade ago, I got caught-out at my Dad's ol' place (*remote South Texas Ranch), TWICE in the same year, with nada...no flashlight, no lighter, no matches, no knife, no pistol, etc., etc., etc. Although it took me twice to learn my lesson, I did learn it, and eventually put-together a Pelican 1450 box that had some goodies in it for any unexpected overnighters. However, because I sometimes have "Rolex tastes, champagne wishes, and caviar dreams", my Pelican can be a pretty expensive treasure chest that I don't really wanna' leave in the truck, permanently.

So, as strategy9 strategy9 mentioned, I wanted to set-up my flatbed truck with some edged tools that were somewhat "expendable". I put-together a "folding/medium/large" knife combo, along with a 'hawk. I tried to keep all tools under $50.00 each. As it turns-out, being patient and waiting for sales and offers, I did a whole lot better than that.

Here are the edged tools that live in my flatbed... (*I went through some of my previous orders, did the math, and found that the below set-up set me back $148.00, TOTAL.)
