The ultimate Busse?

Yes it would...

Here's a mixed bag of mojos and mofos:

Do you have a closeup of the third or fourth from the left? They look a bit different from the normal shape of the mojo ergo handle style. Do they have a palm swell?

Thats an insanely hard question. My fav's are the SAR4, ASH-1 (fat) and any mistress.

Only one??? Thats too tough to answer. ;)

Original badger. Not so much of a chopper, but you could still build a fire with it. And it will take care of 99% of the jobs I need to do.

That said, Steel Heart is the iconic Busse, and the fusion version is a worthy successor. SFNO preserves the best characteristics of the SHSH design if you need to shed some weight off of the FSH.

Rat is right, they are handshaped and do have a palm swell, very comfy. I don't own them anymore, but probably could find some pics if you like, shoot me an email.

I'd have to agree that the Heavy Heart Fusion Steel Heart, the knife in the Busse logo, is the iconic blade most representative of the spirit of Busse Combat. I'd say that the Straight Handle Steel Heart and Fusion Steel Heart variants come next, although personally I skipped directly to the ASH-1 and it's Skinny cousin as personal preferences.

Myself, though ... the first Busse I bought was an AK-47, and it'll be the last one I'd sell.

I love my Badger Attack. I use it for most things including cutting and shaping mortise and tennon joints in posts. I think I need a larger one though as my friend and I were doing some test cutting and I wouldn't be able to chop through a post with any efficiency with such a relatively small blade. I loved his NMSFNO. Wish I could obtain one.

SHBM, light enough to do camp chores, but long enough to chop and baton with ease. Incredible blade!

My choice for a must have Busse is Jerry's Nuclear Seahorse. Just cannot beat this knife.

I would say SAR4 as it is one of the few Busses I actually USE from time to time. I mean, I love all of my Busses, I really do, but the bigger ones just happen to be pretty impractical blades.

If you could only own one Busse, which would it be? Which knife encompasses what Busses are all about the best?

This is a roundabout way of asking which Busse I should look for as my first.
Well, you're obviously getting two different answers, as for most people the most iconic of the Busses is not necessarily their favorite.

While the HHFSH (Heavy Heart Fusion Steel Heart) is the Busse logo knife, I think if you ask just about anyone to name the first knife that pops in their head when you say "Busse Combat", only one knife will be mentioned BY FAR the most, and that's the Battle Mistress, in any of its configurations. Most people will tell you that no matter your favorite, at soem point you really NEED to get a Mistress.

Now, my favorite, second most used, and my first is none other than the Hellrazor.
If I could only have one Busse, or if I was starting over again, the HR would still be the choice.

Thanks for all of the suggestions!

Money is a somewhat limiting factor... I can afford to spring for a Busse, but I'm not sure I can afford to spring for multiple Busse knives. :D

I really like the satin blades, and the black paper micarta handles look really good.

Regarding the Hellrazor, the scallops or whatever they are called on the blade seem to me like they would hinder the knife's cutting ability. Any thoughts on that?

The knife will be used mostly for chopping and heavier bushcraft work. I've got a BRKT Bravo-1 I carry as my medium-sized woods knife, but something bigger for chopping would certainly be nice.
