Wise move my friend. I see you are enjoying your new direction.
As for me I was a History major with emphasis on Ancient Egypt and a minor in the Philosophy of the Greeks. I worked the other end from you and tried to prepare 12, 13 and 14 year olds for reality...they also got a good measure of other skills aside from reading, writing and 'rithmatic, involving things I could teach them from my repertoire i.e. hunting, fishing, map reading and the martial arts. I injected these in an oblique way so as to make my classes more interesting. It worked too well as the powers that be promoted me up and out of the class-room for my efforts. Many of my kids still stay in touch even after 20 and 30 years.
My health has failed now at 76...story is getting too long now...so I collect my knives, study sharpening and play a little jazz on my clarinet when my blasted lungs allow.
Best to you
Leo
