The underrated criteria

I am very cognizant of how a knife feels in hand through the progression of blades in use. The three best across the board for me is..... In order:
- #85 Teardrop Jack in Cocobolo (spear blade unlike yours)
- #92 Eureka Jack in ebony (again, spear main)
- #66 Serpentine Jack in purple sage bone (clip on this one)

I do really like your Texas Jack and understand how it could achieve "precious" status..... Although I like your ebony teardrop too.

Peter,

is your 85 single blade? and is it a liner lock or slipjoint version?
yeah i wish i hadnt missed the 66 serpentine jack run, but such is life, apparently my 85 clip in ebony is pretty rare so ;)

I agree that comfort in the hand is very important. For me this is the main reason I don't like the majority of whancliffe trappers. I find when using the clip the wharncliffe really digs into the hand.

Rsmith77,

Got home from work a couple of hours ago and re-visited the question. I revised my ranking, but the top three remain the same. New World Order.....
