The Unholy Search for the Perfect Fixed Blade (Reccomendation Thread)

Sorry, brother! The blade is too long for the OP's specs, and that Tanto tip is waaaay too tactical!

And with the pushbutton igniter, I believe it would count as a switchblade under most states' laws......

lmao...never thought of light saber as a switch blade before but your right.

Huh. I guess a light saber could be considered a switchblade. Anyway, thanks for all the replies, guys. I've already found what I'm looking for in the form of a Arbolito El Trampero. Oh, I removed the Amazon link, also.

Becker BK16 for sure

Talmadge Tactical Kitchen Knife from Trace Rinaldi.

Ever so slightly above your range, but give blood a few times and you'll be in the berries.

Good choice. Thank you for letting us know! It's satisfying to hear that you found a knife you're happy with.

Make sure to come back and post some pics of it, let us know your impressions of it.

Most of the Arbolito line comes out of Argentina, (Böker has some deep roots in that region as well), but the one you ordered is labeled as being made in Germany, so, fit and finish should be of their best quality, as in my experience, the quality control coming out if their Germany facility are best that they offer.
(More often then not).

Esee 4 with better scales...LMF or some G10s.
3/16" thick & Great Lifetime warranty.

Take a look at the sale going on in the JK Knives subforum.

The JK subforum is linked in my sig.

Get the Mora.
Forget about the full tang requirement. The Mora will do anything necessary and has proven it over many years, and is picked very often over any full tang knife.

I really don't get why people insist with recommending knives out of OP budget.
so my advice will satisfy all your requirements:

EKA Nordic W12 wood

109$, full tang, wood handle, 4.7" blade, very robust.

Thanks strategy9! The Bokers were exactly what I was looking for. Gonna order a Arbolito El Trampero tomorrow, unless anyone has better suggestions before I wake up.

Kwon Kwang- While the ESEE's look fantastic, they will freak my girlfriend the f*** out unless I order new handle slabs... Though... I may order one and keep it at my place... Although I do already have a Ka-Bar and Cold Steel... It looks so nice, though. Definitely going on wishlist.

You should love it!

My Arbolito Stag.

Nothing super intense. Safety, rules of engagement, where to strike (heavy drills), how to block and disarm against a attacker (reaction drills with partner, training knife used), as well as blind reacting attacks to either a (training) knife being drawn or fighting against multiple bigger people.
So what did this training-in-knife-fighting consist of?
