I’ve got a stag 81 stockman that is getting that green from the pins and liners and I think it looks amazing over time. Might need to dig it out for awhile...

More importantly..... left hand pull, Anyone? I may be alone on this.

I’m in! :D

(And I’m not even left-handed…)

If you call it “bois d’arc” it sounds really sophisticated.

Not the way it’s pronounced in Arkansas, Texas, or Oklahoma. ;) :D

Is it wrong?!
Right hander here. Been doing that for 6 decades!

Me too! for 2.5 decades though...

Of course it's wrong... because it's not the way I do it. ;) :D

John, I thought we were friends...
You mean to tell me that you, as a right hander, use your right hand thumb to open your knife while holding it in your left hand?

samesies, coming up on two decades now

Feeling better about my life choices now.

Why wouldnt a right hander use his left thumb to open? Keeps the knife in the hand you will use it with. At least that's how I have always done it.

starting to feel like my friend (if you can call him that, anymore!) John is wrong!

I just tried opening my English Whittler with my right thumb and I heard mysterious, menacing voices chanting in Latin.

Solution posed sounds good:
I want a long pull on both sides. Ambidextrous and pinch-friendly.

Why wouldnt a right hander use his left thumb to open?
Seriously, I'm not saying it's wrong, just funning with you guys. :D
But for me, I was shown how to open a slip-joint knife "properly" by my Scout Leader.
Use the dominant hand on the blade for the most control and swing the blade away from all fleshy parts (blood zone).
And although I was funning with you guys about using your left thumb (which is fine), I do find it funny that people would worry about the extra step of switching hands when we are talking about a slip-joint, which is far from speed/tactical material. :D

Not my idea, though.

Sure, and I think the CK Lionsteels do the same thing, but you bring up a very cool idea. More crevices to clean apple bits out of, but GEC makes some of the best long pulls I've seen.

I guess I'm that weird friend you don't hang out with in public. ;)

I'm considering asking my wife if I can "pretty please?" go to the GEC-palooza, so if you're up for the long trip, I'll see you there!
I'll be able to identify you by how you open your knife, and where everyone has gone silently aghast.
