For the past year or so.No screw ups, super fast, good tracking & still less cost than the alternatives.:thumbup:

What I've come to realize is that 1st class is anything but. It's slow, the tracking is almost non-existant.You have to use priority to get the best service. It's only 3-4 dollars more than 1st class. Most things within US50 take 2-3 days from mailing.

It seemed like they got better after hearing they were losing something like six billion a year?(I may be off a bit,but I remember it being a lot).

I figured there's a bunch of threads about shipping/shipper blunders, but not enough praise where it's due.

Way to go USPS!

I agree fully. I ship at least 5 parcels a week and receive about the same from all over the US and my packages get to there destinations fast ! And my packages are allways here quick as well.

Wish I was in your camp. Got a priority 2 day stuck in opa locka going in and out over and over. 2 days past delivery promise and got to wait until Tuesday for someone to open an investigation or to grab it off the round and round conveyor belt.:)

Oh well least it's not lost yet.......

I'm one of the few who usps seems to have issues getting me my mail and packages. Course I can't stop shippers on who they use. It is what it is.......Back to sitting patiently until it shows up on my doorstep......

I have to say that in my personal experience, USPS has kicked it up a notch in terms of the speed with which items are delivered. The last few packages I have sent out Priority mail have gotten to their destinations a day ahead of USPS's estimate. Even first class mail has been lightning quick. I'm not sure what happened, but they may have finally accepted that if they can't compete with FedEx and UPS, they will be history sooner rather than later. Whatever the reason, my hat is off to them.

I do agree that USPS is great, and I use them over any other service. But my brother has recently also received an item 2 day late that was stuck in Opa Locka. Weird, but package (knife) still got to him, so can't really complain.

I have been rather happy with USPS, 1 item went off the radar for about a week but eventually it got straightened out with very helpful local Post Office help.

They do a pretty darn good job at a quite reasonable price.

Coincidentally, I also had a package (flashlight purchased on CPF) scheduled for delivery in two days that ended up going to Opa-locka, FL for some reason. What's strange is that I had purchased from the buyer twice before and tracking went straight from NJ to my location. My second small hiccup - a two day delay - in all the time I have used USPS to both send and receive. USPS is my shipper of choice as I will never willingly use UPS or FedEX if I don't have to.

I've attempted to contact Fed-X about our driver or their policy of delivering packages at the front door. While my UPS guy puts packages IN my detached garage,Fed-X leaves EVERYTHING on the front porch so it can get blown into the bushes and lay there for a while.Doesn't matter what it is,a large heavy carton marked everywhere with pictures of the truck-ramps it contained was carried past TWO garages (one attached, one detached) around the house,up the sidewalk and left at the LIVINGROOM door.In my humble opinion this shows lack of common sense, God gave a goose.

I have had no problems receiving or sending packages as of the past year or even before. Flate rate priority works very well for me and usually 2 day shipping, sometimes one day quicker or one day slower. I always insure the packages just in case an accident does not happen and I think that is a must for any transaction in case a package is lost in transit either party can be reimbursed.

I agree Ive always been confident 95% of the time with USPS...But the last 1=2 months they have been OUTSTANDING.......

I ordered from Knife Kits on Monday and it was at my door in CA on Wednesday. Things have much improved shipping priority mail

I have had the opposite experience compared to most here. I despise USPS with a passion, as only about 50% of the items I get through them arrive on time (and this doesn't even include several instances of them delivering my package to the wrong address, late). I must admit, however, that the last shipment arrived a day early. I was impressed, but one good experience is not enough to counter the dismal service I've received from them so many times in the past. Neither UPS nor FedEx has ever set a foot wrong in my case. Both have had a 100% success rate as far as on-time delivery is concerned. In fact, UPS is more often than not a day early in their delivery times. The tracking information from UPS and FedEx is also always bang up-to-date, while USPS often doesn't update until after I've received the package. If there is any other shipping option besides USPS available, I always take it. This isn't likely to change unless they can develop a track record to match their competitors.

Priority and first class are the same service , I use first class for anything under 13 ounces, which is about 90% of my packages and if you check my feedback you will see people talk almost exclusively about how fast they get their knives. Don't be fooled , same service.

Maybe it's different on the west coast, but I've noticed considerable difference between 1st class & priority.First class taking at least 2-3 days longer for me.Also when I used to ship first class the boxes were noticeably more 'beat up'.

I was actually going to post in this thread agreeing with everyone, but figures my Brous T4 coming from BladeHQ is taking a detour through Alaska. Can't win them all! But this is really only the second time in two years of knife collecting that I have had the USPS (temporarily) lose something.

I rarely have a first class package take any longer than two to three days and with the money I save , I buy a better box than USPS priority boxes.

ordered knife scales that were sent first class mail to south Florida. Was scheduled for delivery on Saturday, the 23rd. As of today it just updated saying that it just departed Opa Locka, FL.. what's up with Opa Locka sucking in packages for an extra few days! As long as my package arrives safely it's all good.. but it's stupid that it still shows expected delivery of the 23rd!

I have to say they have been doing a great job nationally. Now if only the Spanish postal system was like that.
