Don't know how I missed this thread all this time.:o
Welcome Acinonyx and I for more than one am hoping you'll drop by quite often!  :D

.

Thank you all! I received my khukuris a few days ago, and both the BGRS and the AK are gorgeous pieces of metal! They were both field sharp. Still, I will put some effort into making them extra sharp and perfect, and will need quite a bit of help from you guys and girls the coming months. At the moment I'm almost scared to do anything to them in fear of damaging them.

There are a few things I'm wondering about too, about the markings. I'll posts a thorough post to the "kami-mark"-thread later, but in short I'm puzzled by the AK which has Sher's pre-2002 full sun, but with the U.B. mark. So either the U.B. was added to a pre 2002 knife, or there's a new kami using the full sun.

The BGRS by Vim is strange too, as it doesn't have the U.B. mark at all, but some initials written in Devanagari (I believe). This might spell out U.B., but I haven't seen this variant in any of the photos earlier.

Post a new topic in the forum proper and hopefully some of the "old-timers" will be able to help you identify these. Be sure to post pics or scans of the marks, as this greatly helps in the identification. if there is no clear UB mark on the right side of the blade by the sword of shiva, it may well be old stock or the mark was forgotten for some odd reason.
