The VBCAK: The Yardwork Commando Belt Knife

Hey how does it compare to the IBBB?

It's a totally different animal:) The ibbb is probably a better heavy duty EDC simply because it has more of a point, a thinner edge, and packs a little straighter.

There is a bit of a diminishing return when you take the khukuri shape smaller than 14 or 15". I don't mean that as a knock again it. It's just that you lose some chopping performance of course.

The VBCAK excels as a knife used for heavy duty ripping, digging, and small snap cuts. It's a hard use knife that will stand up to pretty much anything you throw at it.

Very fair assessment. Agree wholeheartedly even with the idea that it has limits because of it's size. Only thing you left out is "IT IS SO DARN CUTE" as well as so functional. LOL, can anyone tell this is my favorite HI so far? For some reason this is the one I can't seem to put down, if it will do something I use it for it. Now if I was chopping up something larger than blackberry canes I would use a larger chopper, but for general purpose it sure fits the bill for me.

I use the spine of my 25" siru for blackberry runners. First peel them off the ground so you can see where the're coming from. Then throw them off to the side so you dont step on them next time. Then eat the berries under them:D. Them long runners make berries next year so I dont cut them unless they bite me. I have a 5 acre patch of blackberry and I navigate thru them barefoot so you might say ive had some practice:rolleyes: Speaking of which i should be having blackberry pie in about a month:p
I like both of them blades but they are different class for sure. VBCAK is great for drawcutting where the Micro is a bit stuby and short BUT not incapable. If im in the office and want to rip my desk apart id grab the Micro altho the VBCAK is not incapable. The VBCAK fits nicely in the front pocket if it needs to be concealed simply because its bent. Micro is downright gorgeous so i dont like pulling up root balls in rocky sand with it but the VBCAK is great for that.

Hi I'm new on the forums and just wanted to say hi from Oklahoma City Oklahoma and I have a question the VBCAK is that the same thing as HI Bilton I'm sorry for the newby questions I'm still getting use to all of the short hand terms on this forum
Is there a thread that I can use as a reference to all of the short hand terms till I can figure them out?

The Bilton is smaller yet, the smallest I believe. Its almost letter opener size. Its handy too just smaller.
