I use Photobucket to host images. The account is free and I've never hit any limit on storage there. Others use Imageshack the same way, but I'm not familiar with that one. Open free account, follow on-screen instructions to upload the pix, then copy the IMG code and paste it into your post. You can see what the code will look like by quoting this post.

I was in my uncle's house for Thanksgiving and saw this Primble on his bathroom counter so I opened it to have a look. It looks well-loved.

That Winterbottom Bone takes on a superb lustre from honest wear:thumbup:

I like the look of a full Congress but find the in hand feel of the Half Congress to be better. What would be interesting is a Congress with four different blades: Spear, Sheepfoot,Pen and Cope. I think I saw a Ken Erickson custom like this. Can a Clip blade be mounted in this frame?

You're right, it is pretty cool having four different blades. The only problem I can see with mounting a clip blade in one is access to the nail nick, but with proper placement, it should be doable. I've never seen one, though.

A couple of Congress Whittlers to round out the post.

That GEC Courthouse Whittler is one fine looking knife. If it whittles like it looks, I think I need to get me one.

That Reese Bose is in a class by itself! Thanks all for posting such fine Congress knives. That MSA Marbles is rather fetching as well...wish they weren't so hard to come by these days.

I like the idea of a two blade congress, or half congress as I just learned from you guys! After XX years of living I like the two blade simplicity.

What is really strange is that from my first knife at 9 years old I always wanted hunters (big sheath knives).
So I bought a buck 7 inch to take to camp but had to return it once my mom saw it, ugh moms and knives... anyway...

Because my folks would not let me have a sheath knife I wanted a pocket knife with a big blade. I settled for a camco 771 and I cranked that knife, using it for everything and loving it, the blade was all wobbly after 15 yrs of daily carry, till lost.

Now hindsight has me seeing that a congress, with its shorter blades might be just what I want. Top it with the half congress so I don't get confused seems like a smart move :-)

Thinking to replace my 99 CaseXX 3 blade Stockman with a 2 blade congress, recommendations? I like Queen and Hen and Rooster for carving.

An old thread but nice to see such beautiful Congress knives. I have one - a GEC #61 Half Congress in Elephant Ivory and it's absolutely beautiful. It's my Sunday-go-to-Church pocket knife :)

I too love GEC's 61 half congress, although I don't have the deluxe with elongated bolsters, mine is a sheepsfoot with pen (a bit more conventional).

Don't be put off by four blades though, they still ride nicely and the extra edges mean you don't have to sharpen so frequently, this is a carbon steel boker.

I really like the color of that bone!

I ...like most of you am always on the hunt for a new pattern. I found a new one this weekend. The Venerable Congress. It's my first so I did a little research on it and it seems its a very old pattern although I did not find much information on it.
I have always thought it would make a good whittler. It does quite well for it diminutive size. This particular one is a Hen and Rooster made at the Bertram Cutlery in Germany. It was well used and an interesting color but its really growing on me.
I wondered how many of you have an affinity for the pattern and why. If anyone knows any interesting history behind the pattern I would love to hear about it. Here are a few pictures of my first Congress. Please post pictures of yours.
