I own various Spyderco knives, Spyderco Delica 4 FRN, Tasman, Salt1, NativeIII, Wallyworld Native, and Crossbill. The voices in my head are telling me its time for another, but i cant justify a $90 + knife. My wife is louder than the voices. I rotate my knives once a week, and use the Native and Crossbill while doing yard work and such. I need some suggestions on which Spyderco knife would be good to scratch the itch. I probably won,t buy for a few weeks. I just wanted to know which other style would be good to try and use for my edc rotation.(something different) I will be using this knife for cutting boxes, plastic wrapping, envelopes, bbq occasionaly, and fruit, nothing too harsh. Thats what my N3 and CB are for. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

The Sage is an excellent knife, but the Tenacious would be a good lower-cost substitute.

Just don't let your voices talk to mine. ;) My voices just convinced me to spring for a Forester, and I have no idea what they think they are going to use it for.

I probably shouldn't be telling you this 'cause I'm hoping there will be some left for me when I get a bit of money in a week or so, but if you head over to the Spyderco web sight and go to the catalog tab and click on specials there are still some discontinued Co-Pilots and D'Allara drop points left at pretty attractive prices. The Co-Pilot would be a bit smaller of a blade than what you have in your collection while the D'Allara is in the same size range but has the ball bearing lock to set it apart. You could also try out a Dragonfly, or one of the other "little big knives" or go for another Byrd or two.

I totally agree, either model will stop the voices, but be warned they will return

My Dad always said the happiest moment in his knife/gun buying life, came when he had so many, that my mom no longer could tell he'd bought another!

Question on the D'allara. The handle seem thick like the Native III. Am I correct on this.

My last Spydie was a superhawk and its one heck of a knife.

Or maybe a para in D2 while there still about

I passed that point with my wife a while ago. It's pretty awesome. The collection just grows and grows, and she has no idea what's new and what's not. The key is to play with your collection daily or almost daily, so she's desensitized to the sight of you fiddling with knives and guns. When you're fondling a new one, she can't tell the difference.

Oh, and as for not being able to justify $90 or more on a knife? Give it time. Before you know it, you'll find it hard to justify $200, then $500, then $1000 for a knife. Hanging out on Bladeforums will not help you with this.

The D'Allara handle is sculpted like the Native III, but it really isn't all that thick.

L to R D'Allara Rescue, Endura3, D'Allara DP, Endura4

D'Allara fills your hand nicely, but isn't overly thick.

I'm going to get either a Caly 3 or a CF Native IV!

D'Allara, Sage, D2 Mili, Endura, This isnt going to be an easy choice. If I pick the wrong one the voices will be angry, and the itch will just come back faster.
