The wait begins...

As Steve-O says, the gravity thing is cool! I have yet to see a blade that has as little play as my Sebbie, yet free falls so easily.

If you make the commitment to buy one, use it! As previously stated, if you think you will find knife nirvana just by opening the box and fondling it, you will be disappointed for sure. This is why you see so many for sale that are NIB. When was the last time you saw a "everyday user" Sebenza up for sale? If you use it and learn to appreciate it's function you will most likely hang onto it and get full enjoyment from using it. I have had mine nearly 2 years and consider it one knife that I could not part with. I would regret it everyday after that for sure. It was my first expensive knife and sure, I was hesitant to use it at first. All I know is that it is much more valuable in my pocket than in a safe

Good luck Paul, enjoy the knife and I hope you find it's true worth. And just when I was about to nickname you "Spydie-man", you go and pull this stunt

Yes, waiting sucks.
If it makes you feel any better, I ordered a custom last November, and was given a 60 day (possibly less) wait. It was supposed to be here two weeks ago (well, actually it was supposed to be here 3 1/2 months ago), but there was a "problem".
It was supposed to be here last week, but there was another "problem".
Supposed to have been delivered today.
This is the third time I've cancelled plans, just so I could be here to sign for this knife.
I watched the UPS truck go by half an hour ago.
He didn't stop

Time to put the heavy bag back up.

Steve-O,

Yeh. I ordered a special pattern, that's why it's taking so long.

As to where I've been...why, right here. Just quiet is all.

Waiting sucks big-time! The UPS in this tiny burg is majorly screwed up. I ask that all my knives and accesories be sent via USPS Priority or Express. The'll deliver Priority on Saturday, and Express even on Sunday. It does my heart good to see a civil service person working on a sunday

You can actually call someone at the post office and have them hold the package so that you can drive there the next day and pick it up.
Most dealers/purveyors will give you the option if you ask. Sometimes it will even save you some $$$. It sure beats the "waiting all wekend blues".

i run to the door to see the friendly man wearing only a smile (and a uniform) with a box under his arm...its gotta be....MY M-16!!! Back from being repaired!!!

I take the box with shaking hands into the living room, put it down, reach for my trusty afck in my pocket, all while reading the label.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT MY BOX?!?!?!?!?!
turns out its the "4 ingredient cookbook" for mom.typical.

ARGHHHHH!!!!

Blademan,
I don't understand. What did you mean by saying, "I've yet to see a knife with as little play as my Sebbie, yet falls free..."? I've never seen a Sebenza with ANY play. Are you saying that you have a little blade play. Please respond. I'm very curious. If you have a Sebenza with a blade that "wiggles", even a little, it's the first time I've ever heard of that.

Will

No play. What I was saying is that I have seen blades that would freefall, but they also have play when the locking bar is disengaged. This is my definition of a smooth action. Other knives may appear smoother when opening, but I believe this is because the locking bar on a Sebenza exerts greater force (and thereby drag) on the blade tang than many of the less forceful liner-locks out there.
