The Waiting Game....

Never met ya but I'm excited for ya too. Strange how forums are eh?

I'm pretty convinced you won't be disappointed by the Chokwe. As nice as it looks, it feels even better and slices like a demon. It's a real performer not all that many people really know about outside the spyderco community. All the parts work as a whole and seem to come up with something like 1+1=3. The Stretch in ZDP ( or VG10) is that way too. It's ergonomics. That, along with a thin slicing blade, good steel, and a good lock. Everything works together in harmony. :)

Jeeze! Is this where we all start swaying back and forth and break out singing? :p

Joe

I agree 100% (Except for the swaying and singing:)) The chokwe is a super performer in my experience.

Hi soulmate,
your words and thoughts could have
been mine in every way

Um, the best I could do was "common interest mate" , then forgot what I was thinking, got a sandwich, and sat down on the couch with Finn the Mastiff. All else seemed kind of creepy to this old guy. :)

Did you have a chance to handle the Chokwe before you bought? I always thought they were goofy looking but then played with one at the local knife shop. Man o man what a really nice feeling knife and light as a feather! You'll indeed like it.

Retired Guns, as a lifelong fan of Lewis B."chesty" Puller I must salute your avatar.

I know the question isn't meant for me I too thought they were sort of blocky and not really ergonomic looking. Holding one instantly changed my mind even before I cut something with it. At that point I had to have it. I recall the pictures of the originals from the local tribal blacksmith in Africa and read about how well they worked. In one ear and out the other and then one day there it was live and in person. I'm glad I picked it up though at the time I was kind of smirking to be honest.

My ex inlaws had a word describing the feeling that seems particularly apt when you think about it. "gobsmacked!"

:)

Lol I Get What You Mean, I Feel The Same Way About My Sage 2. I Think My Sage 2 Is Just Amazing And They Executed It Amazingly.
So If I Feel That Way About The Chokwe(Which I'm Sure I Will). I Will Be Very Pleased. I'm Hoping It Comes In Tomorrow. Which From My Experience I Should.

So I'm Happy. And Now I Have To Write My Resume And Create A Hypothetical Business And Sell My Business To My Teacher In 60 Seconds Or Less Lol. Yay School Haha.

No, I Never Got To Handle It But I Just Knew From The First Time I Saw One That It Was The Knife For Me. I Like Unique Knives That Are So Unique But Over The Top Utilitarian, So I See It Taking Over My EDC Lol.

Well I decided to make a lockbar stabilizer for the chokwe. I think it turned out pretty nice.

I still have to sand it a bit more....

What Is That Made Of?
It Looks Like G-10.
Maybe CF But Looks More Like G-10?

That's Pretty Cool.
I'm So Excited. The Chokwe Should Hopefully Be In Tomorrow.

It's red and black g10 But the red is pretty much non-existent:) I bet the anticipation is killing you, Huh?

A G-10 Lockbar Stabilizer. What A Sweet Idea. I Definitely Like That.

And Yeah, The Anticipation Is Killing Me, If I Check The Mail And It's Not There Tomorrow I May Be A Little Disappointed.
But It Shipped Friday From Amazon, And I Order There A LOT... And It's Always Arrived In Two Days.

So I Suspect It Will Be Here.
If Not, It'll Be Here Tuesday Or Wednesday.

But From What I Know Of Amazon, It Should Be In My Mail Box Tomorrow Afternoon.

Just Wanted To Post An Update On The Delivery Status...
I Checked The DC# Through The USPS...
And It'll Be Here....

TODAY Lol. It's Out For Delivery Right NOW. I'm So EXCITED!
I Will Post In The Next Few Hours To Update My First Impression.

I'm So Happy.

Pics Pics Pics! I'm glad you like it. Spread the word of the Chokwe and hopefully more people will start buying them.

I Will Get Pics ASAP. And Yeah, More People Need To Get This Knife It's So Perfect.
Now I Have A Para2 That I Do Nothing With.. It's Kind Of Sad.. But It's Amazing As Well, Because That Means 3 Knives Later.. The Para2 Was Kicked.. And It's One Of The Best Spyderco Knives Out There.

Woo-hoo! I feel exactly the same. Like I said, I've tried about 20 of the most popular spydies, and I've sold or shelved them all in favor of the Chokwe.

In fact, after a week of owning a large Sebenza Insingo, I still find myself preferring the Chokwe for a variety of reasons: lower weight, thinner handle, angle of the blade versus the handle, pointy tip, ease of frame lock release, and most importantly: the spyder hole instead of thumb stud.

Congratulations, and spread the word!

I'll Take That Sebenza Off Your Hands If You Want Lol.

Now... What Knife To Trade My Para For?

And Yeah, I'm In Love With The Chokwe.

Awesome. Don't get too giddy though because the Para you'll miss eventually. It's the only knife that I must have at least one of and at all times. Trade for another color scale and that will revive you for a spell ;^)
