The Walking Dead?

you'd think they'd have their pick of choice weapons, and not have to be scrounging so often, with so few people alive... oh well.

i guess eventually i'll see season 3 (no cable tv here)

guess zombies like mowed lawns :D

never really cared for the walking dead. Past tired of zombies and vampires. i did like revolution but its loosing its interest fast. Arrow is still good. and the last resort is awesome. beauty and the beast is a horrible joke.Oh and Fringe.... Fringe is the best. Has been since season 1. i also liked the show supernatural but i LOVE fringe. hate that its the last season. ill miss walter.

That is actually (I think) the Cold Steel LTC, the original blade that the machete was modeled after. It looks WAY too thick to be the machete, plus I dont think the machete is saber grind.

I really liked last season when rick had to deal with shane and the story was much more developed. But I'd have to say that this season is far more like the graphic novel (in style) then the last few seasons. Last sundays episode has me looking at samurai swords for sale. So badass.....

Oh and nobody mentioned the guy who has a knife for an arm yet (it's really a bayonet I guess...).

This leads me to ponder if I was missing an arm during a zombie apocolypse what knife would I attach to it. Hmmmm..

It looks like a prop inspired by a Czech bayonet. However, it is missing the locking mechanism in the pommel and the blade is shown right-side-up instead of upside-down.

Is Michonne's sword custom, or a known brand? I love the wrap on that thing. I've always thought swords (katana type anyway) were cheesy to display, and reminded me of any generic 'guy who took karate for a year... ten years ago'... And the nicer swords always seem to be way too expensive. That said, my feelings have changed drastically over recent years. I really want a nice sword now. And yes, I took karate a long time ago, hah.

And I thought the knife that was Carol's was a MT when I saw it. I paused it and went slow-mo. Looked like a bayonet type blade. But I defer to experts there.

I thought it looked like a Benchmade Infidel. Kept going crazy when Daryl scraped it against the floor, trying to kill concrete.

Have to agree about the infidel, and they don't own the knives so why would he care. I think real world he wohld have kept it to use later. My question is this Daryl used his crossbow two weeks ago and after pulling the bolt out he stuck itin his mouth, major gross. An with the current episodes I thoght that once you got injured you turned like the chopper accident. So with Michonne injured why no turn and Merle injured why no turn.

Being sctratched or bitten just gives them a fever that kills them. They don't just turn if they step on a sticker:) Just kidding man:D But yeah, it's a fever, and they all already have the virus.

I always watch this show with my dad every week (along with a few beers) and he's been too busy til tonight to catch up so I've been eyeing this thread with great anticipation.

We were both talking tonight about how the last season was so great as far as being plot driven and full of character development. We also discussed how this season seems more geared towards the lowest common denominator and is noticeably gunning for an audience that is happy with mindless gore. Either way I have to admit that I will still happily watch it because there is no other major high quality production show appealing towards an audience that enjoys post apocalyptic zombie television. C'est la vie.

They fired the writers towards the end of the last season, when it looks as though they were starting to write the show like a day time soap opera. After an entire season on the farm with little to do but worry about who was pregnant by who, the endless pissing match between Rich and Shane and the Lori character aggravating everyone, the show was about to jump the shark. I like the return focus on Zombies, and the characters should by now be learning how to deal with zombie infestation, as they appear to be; and the new characters have added a much needed breath of fresh air.

What makes the show interesting to me is the continuing survival story. It may require a suspension of disbelief, but it is fun to think about survival in a world where the usual authority structures have been displaced and where freedom and arnarchy are the new norm. These people may be on the run from hords of zombies, but at least they are not being chased by creditors and tax collectors; now that would be a true horror story.
