Being a LCSNA (Lewis Carroll Society of North America) member by the appropriate name of Ray Carpenter I have tried to create a one-of a kind scrimshaw artwork in a knife depicting the Walrus and the Carpenter–and also Lewis Carroll. For all of you on the forums that are not familiar with Lewis Carroll he was the poet that invented "Alice and Wonderland" and also wrote the poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter" I hope it does the author justice and maybe he is looking at it with a smile. I have dedicated countless hours on this piece almost 400 to be exact. Its been fun but a lot of work.Specs are below.
Knife OAL; 13 1/2 inches
Blade; 15N20 & 1095 Damascus Steel flat ground with a distal taper and file worked spine.
Handle;Fossil Walrus sled runner tip considered a relic. At least 200 yrs old. Guard is fossil Walrus with black acrylic spacers. On one side of the handle I scrimshawed a Walrus and on the other side I scrimshawed the Carpenter with Lewis Carroll shadowed in looking down on his two favorite characters.
Display; Display is a piece of 1/2 inch black acrylic that I laser cut the poem "The Walrus and the Carpenter" into by Lewis Carroll. In the center of the poem is a large socket or end of a fossil Walrus tusk that I scrimshawed the Walrus and the Carpenter on looking at their favorite items "Oysters".The shells on the display are Oyster shells that I picked up at Willapa Bay where some of the best Oysters in the world are harvested.

Asking; $3500.00 OBO which will include free insured shipping via USPS Priority Mail.I will accept a USPS money order or a personal check for payment.Any questions about the piece just ask. Thanks all for taking a look:)
