Eric,
I've been signed up on Jerry's site. I didn't realize that it covered the SR site also. Will we get email when the War Hawk is available to purchase. Thanks for the info.

Geez Eric, I look in here for one last time before deploying and I see this. Makes me want to puke, all the stuff I might miss. I'll be deployed a year, and may or may not have net access.

The way it looks now is I'll be teaching possibly across the states, but who knows what Uncle Sam has in store for me.

War hawk... Wonder if it'll mix well with the Ratchet, Camp Tramp and Howling Rat??

Think they'll get along like good siblings?

Oh well, I'll try to drop in on the forums here when I can.

See ya all!

Maybe some of you at Blade if I can get leave to attend.

Enjoy all! I'm sure that Swamp Rat's second year will be a winner, too.

Thanx Eric!
Thanx Jennifer!

You've all done well for the soldier. Keep up the good work!

Ed

PS: While I'm out, I'll try to send as much business your way as I can.

I'll check back real quick Sat night, since I leave Sunday.

Again; Great Job! Talk to you all when I can.

Edward,
Stay Safe and Check in when you have a chance. I'll be sending a little something your way in a couple of weeks, I hope it helps out. :D:D

Am I the only one who thinks
it looks better with the lines
broken up some? :)

I've actually seen a few SK's out there, and don't worry about this bad boy going anywhere. ;):D:D

Skeleton Key? what Skeleton Key? I dont have any idea what you mean!

Eric,

Finally getting somewhat settled here at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. Finally got my hands on a net connection, albeit archaically slow.

Going through a school right now, but should start training troops again pretty soon. Like I stated before, save one for me and I'll send all the traffic your way that I can muster.

Keep up the great work!

Ed.

Now, if I can get my hands on an SK...

Sooooo. . .when we gonna see this thing?!!:D

I screamed "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, THE DREADED X'S!"

My wallet screamed after seeing Rats photos of the hawk, " NO MAS, NO MAS". :D

Looks neat, can't wait for a passaround (HINT HINT).

Bring.. It.. On!

SQUOINK!!!

(You just couldn't resist bringing this back to life, now could you, Fink?) :D

Yeah, well I want one. Or Two. . .
I stumbled across this thread while searching for a pic of the thing.
Seems it was scheduled for release, but nothing happened?

I blame Porkerson!
That bully probably has dozens of them- throws them all in a pile and wallows in them.:(

Actually, this one didn't disappear into oblivion so much as it was stated very clearly that they had decided not to make it. It is universally agreed to be a neat piece, but it has a whole lot more fantasy than utility in it, and Jennifer decided it wasn't in keeping with the Swamp's image. Also, it required a HUGE amount of steel, and grinding, and from what I understand the heat treatment got interesting on it. The likely price would have rivaled most of the bigger blades from zee ozzer company and that, again, was not what the Queen wanted, if I am remembering right. Some people complain about some of the current offerings being "as expensive as a Busse" (Even though the biggest knife the Swamp ever put out, the RD, barely surpassed the price of one of the smallest Busses ever released, the Active Duty)---I think many would fall over dead if they actually saw a $400.00 Rat. :D

Somewhere, though, that prototype exists...

I'll only mention this with the caveat that Swamp Rat IS NOT going to make the Rat Axe.

If someone is really jonesing for something like this, you might consider the Ranger Knives Entry tool. I won't link directly to their Sell website since that might be a BF no-no, but I'll include the link to some rather impressive testing done by the knifemaker, Justin Gingrich. Entry Tool Testing

From their site:
Designed with a balance between weight and functional capabilities. This piece was designed primarily for the US Army as well as Firefighters and EMS crews. Capabilities that have been tested by the Army and myself personally are as follows but definitely not limited to:

Breaching Doors

Pad locks

Windows in a break and rake situation

Suspended sealing

Man hole covers

Car doors and windows

Gas Shut off valves

This tool can be used for any and all prying needs as well as hammering and chopping. It has also chopped through cinder blocks, mild steel and countless wood products. Later this week the entry tool should be tested by the Columbus Fire Department. After which I hope to have more feed back and additional capabilities.

Specs:

Overall Length 18”

Head Width: 6 ½”

Blade Length: 3”

Thickness: ¼ inch

Steel: S7

Handle Length: 15”

Finish: Wrinkle coat

Weight: 1lb 13oz

RC: 58-60

$129.99"

Eric, if this is a no-no, I humbly apologize. Feel free to delete with no hard feelings! :D
