The Wife Knife

When I first met my ladyfriend 6-7 years ago I gave her a keychain with an SAK Classic, "tactical" nail clippers, and a little flashlight. She called it her "batgirl keychain".
'Course, she didn't carry it much at first and just liked it because I gave it to her. But, I kept bugging her to throw it in her purse and we both used it so much that she does see the value and does carry it as a habit now.

My wife doesn't, offered plenty of saks. If she needs a knife takes mine.😢
Although she does like her own kitchen knife. I bought the top 1 for over 15 years ago. Couple months ago she wanted a new 1 & a lttle bigger. After much searching she decided on the victorinox (middle 1) I personally don't know if is big enough.😉😊

My ex carried a pink Kershaw Shuffle, an early one that had 8CR not the 3cr they changed to. She used the blade occasionally, the bottle opener a lot, her family were big drinkers.

My half-sister carries a small keychain SAK and a Viper Novis in her purse. She carried a jarbenza with the SAK previously. I gave her the Viper as a welcome to the family gift. She loved it. I gave her husband, 13 year old son, and 16 year old daughter a knife from my collection. Her daughter was particularly thrilled by the purple WE Deacon.

I've tried to get my sister and mother to carry, but my sister has kids and her 3 year old daughter is always going through her purse so she is concerned about it.

Although my mother doesn't carry a knife, she is going to get her CCW so there's that.

My wife does not carry a knife. She depends on me for the cutting when we are together. She does keep an Opinel #9 in her vehicle and uses it often, cutting fruit or scratching lottery game tickets, etc😁 I'll grab it every so often without her knowledge to clean it up and sharpen it.

Hey man I think it’s plenty big, well above average! 😉

The ex has a Spyderco Centofante that I gave her probably 12 years ago. Surprised she still has it but noticed it on the kitchen counter when I dropped the kid off last week. Current wife has a purple Spyderco Delica that I gave her in her purse all the time. She loves it. Always tells me how it comes in handy all the time.

1. Her "sharp" garden knife is a Bahco branded Mora. (Was in the set with the Laplander saw)
2. Toolbox knife for precise cutting is a Delica ffg
3. EDC is a SAK Huntsman.

However, her most used tool is this:

A simple hand held weeder.
My wife asked me to sharpen one side and she uses this thing from weeding to dispatching zombies without a care...

Last year we bought a spare - I don't think we'll need that ever...

One of her old knives, not the current edc. One of my Vaquero model in high carbon dammy and an elk handle with a turquoise spacer

The knife itself that she carries currently is one of my Vaquero models with buckeye burl for the handle and clay coated 26C3 high carbon steel.

When she is working the ground at one of our brandings she carries two:

I'm surprised by the responses on this thread. Can't get my wife to touch a knife. It's just man stuff to her. I can't even get her to apply a proper grip to a chef's knife. She crowds her fingers nervously at the back of the handle, afraid of the cutting edge.

My wife orders so many Amazon packages, I'd say that her knife is honestly the most used object she carries on a daily basis 🤣

For Father's Day my beloved returned my Benchmade Shootout she stole and informed me I have the privilege of buying her, "One like that, but with a pretty handle." I suppose they are gonna drop the seafoam one soon, so it looks like some of my knife budget will go to that. 😂
Most of my wife's knives have been ones she's stolen from stock. I make em up for sale and she'll snag one on occasion.
