The World Is Round Giveaway

Very generous!
I have one and so I am not entering but I have not been coming around as much the past few years and almost missed this one myself.
I hope someone who did miss out sees this and gets a shot at it.

I like those antlers, got any pictures of the belt sheath?

Fine act and sentiments, altruism has always been scarce in bleak hearts.

I can't think of anybody just now to nominate but you might want to extend that deadline a bit to allow more 'legits' to see this and take part. Seems like Flatearthers are ruled out of this one ;)

A flat earther was heard to say on TV the other day we have members all around the globe, you couldn't make it up.

Very thoughtful and generous giveaway   .

I'm in, thank you for the chance!

Either way I think I will give a shot at paying this forward by helping someone with a meal. It's not something I've done before, but something I've thought about.

Wow what a great idea! I really like the anti flipping work, I hope the winner (not in) will enjoy this amazing knife!

That's a very generous giveaway and gesture.
If I'm not mistaken things didn't work out so well this year, so hopefully someone who really really wanted to and should have gotten one wins.

Even with the " peak " nail nick position which is a deal breaker for me I gotta say it's a great looking knife I wouldn't hate to own.
I'm not entering because I'm not deserving, but I'll sure enjoy seeing the exuberant number of appearances it's sure to make around the porch.

Not an entry .......... I'm sure your selfless act of generosity will make make one of the deserving porch members very happy.

"Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and kindness."

I contemplated this giveaway long and hard last night. Before I get to the prize I’d like to explain my reasoning.

I have been known to buy meals for those less fortunate, when the opportunity arises. If I am at a diner or cafe and see someone come in who seems to be in a hard place, I will almost always discretely ask the server to let me pay their bill.
It has never been for recognition, or gratitude, but it is simply that I recognize an immediate need in the world that I have the ability to help solve.

This sub forum is largely made up of the same kind of people. Most of y’all are generous beyond words, and reach past the typed words on the screen to connect with the lives of one another. This last forum knife has caused a pretty noticeable ripple in some of that, and it IS a pretty nice knife- but that’s all it is, a knife. This giveaway is my attempt at a “show of good faith” to the traditional section, that the forum knife represents more than a nice pocket accessory.

Now, the prize:

To the winner, I’ll be sending out my personal 2021 forum knife. It has excellent walk and talk, fantastic f&f, and is just barely starting to get character. I have also made a belt sheath, which I’ll also send out along with the tube and pin. It truly is a wonderful knife, I just prefer multiple blades, so it’s on to my next search!

Here’s the catch-
I have done some “scale work” for two reasons. The first is to prevent flippers from further staining a well meaning giveaway by posting it at 15 trillion pesos on eBay, and the second is to remind the recipient that “the world is round” and that more important than any material item is the good will towards others.

The only stipulation is that you must have been eligible to buy the forum knife in the original order. I will draw names this coming Sunday, and I WILL VET the winner to make sure they are eligible.

Thanks all!

A very nice idea Adam, and a nice way to live your life too, if I may say so. I love to perform kind gestures, particularly to strangers, and try and perform as many as possible. It's nice to make someone's day, and it always makes mine :) I know many of our friends here on The Porch feel exactly the same. A shame the atmosphere here has been temporarily disturbed by a lot of fuss about a knife, when those of us who post here regularly know there is so much more about this place than that :) Not an entry from me please, I just wanted to say thanks for your kind and generous gesture, someone is going to have a really special knife there
