The Yankee or Dixie Quiz

71% Southern. I was born in Alabama and have lived here for 59 years.

Funny thing is, most of the avid NASCAR fans I am acquainted with are transplanted from Indiana.

39% (Yankee). It could have gone differently, since I use many of the terms and pronunciations they have listed. I think it isnt too accurate.

Hehe, I'm not even American :D

LOL!! :D  :D :p

42% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Dang...gotta work on that...!

Been livin' in the south too long apparently..!!

45% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.
I guess its because even though I'm a solid Northeasterner, I stay out of New York City as much as possible.

Hehe- 44% Yankee, "just barely". I was actually born in Iowa, but moved to St. Louis as an infant. My Iowan relatives all have a slight nasal "twang" to their speech when I visit now, and they use slightly different terms for things.
"Pop" instead of "soda" for instance.

50% dixie, course being from the confused sate of West Va I guess that makes sense.

51% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

Born in Mich. Raised(and still live in) Tx. Dad from Mass. Mom from Ga.

Bob

100% Dixie...Is General Lee my Father

Kinda interesting seeing as how I live in Oz and was born in Ireland

71% (Dixie).

Interesting. I was born in North Carolina and I've lived here all my life, but NO ONE believes that. People tell me that I can't be southern because I don't like beans or sweet tea.

66% Dixie. Was born and grew up in S. Louisiana, but it looks like my last 13 years in the far north (Virginia .. :D) has corrupted some of my Dixie traits. Sides ... we used to call the drive through liquor stores beer barns ... Not one of the selections on the test.. :(

I don't think the test was very accurate. 67% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

I live in southern Oklahoma, shoot and fish almost daily, and I drive an 89 lincoln town car with no muffler. I guess being a redneck doesn't mean you're dixie or yankee.

I like how yanks pronounce things. Instead of cock, it's cack. I work with a few yankees. They always call each other short cack.....

It needs this question:
How do you pronounce wash?
wa sh
war sh
woshe
none of the above

My mom says war sh....

61% dixie, if you heard me talk you'd probably think thats low :D Been in ohio my whole life as far as I know, but people don't seem to beleive it.
The other day I was at a store and a girl asked me if I was from texas, don't think she beleived me when I told her no, so I said I was just a redneck. I'm still not sure that settled it, but she didn't say anymore about it.
Whenever I meet someone new at school or whatever, they always act really surprised when they find out where I'm from too. Guess I need to move somewhere that I'll fit in better
