Which one would you wish for and why?

Something in about a 7-9 inch blade, Strider, Busse or Randall. And a pair of titanium chopsticks... :D

Just abandon NY and NJ and stay in PA. With the amount of hunters and privately held weapons here, the many wooded areas, and horrible roads throughout, they'd have a hell of a time taking the state. Let them have Philly, though... ;)

As for the 'knife' pictured above, it looks more like a short sword to me. Perhaps we need a pic of it in hand to get an idea of scale.

A made in china, POS?

Best choice. If there are check points you don't need to carrying something that would get attention. Some short sword size knife will get you hauled in right there.

That's easy to say from the far side of a keyboard ... how about stopping by so we can save you the trouble and do your surgery for you?

I know some real salty parts of Washington D.C.'s back streets, lets see how a non-east coast dude gets through. :D

What are you all talking about? It was an entirely rhetorical question, I think he just threw in "Chinese" as the first possible opponent he could think of. I'm Chinese, and that doesn't offend me!

Did anyone suggest that anyone was offended? I for sure am not "offended", (nor am I Chinese for that matter :) ). Someone's lack of imagination or paranoia does not offend me in the least. It saddens me because this is exactly the kind of feeling/state of mind which all agressors want to induce in their population in order to justify their imperial ambitions. That's how we ended up with the GWOT (Global War on Terror - with emphasis on *global*) monstrosity: perpetual war :barf:

I'd go for a Warren Thomas all Ti folder in the 5" blade range.

For those without chinese fonts installed and who can't use babelfish:

DaveH: Your news is very stupid.

tnozh: And so is your sense of humor.

You are laying low somewhere in the hills of Central Pennsylvania when your orders come through: you must deliver a package to Resistance forces on the occupied island of Manhattan. PA is still largely in friendly hands, although the Philadelphia shipyards are trashed and occupied by enemy forces attempting to move inland. New Jersey is entirely enemy-held. You must pass through old forests of Eastern PA, cross the Delaware River, move through forested areas of NJ, eventually encountering more and more densely populated areas until your final entry into NYC. You will attempt to blend in with the local populace wherever possible, encountering more Chinese checkpoints as you go on; these may result in pat-downs at the least as metal sensors are not fully deployed yet.

You are carrying some basics: a canteen, leatherman, small flashlight, compass, a few MREs etc, but NO weapon. The Resistance won't be able to aid you during your trek, and much of the local populace may not be reliable.

At the start of your journey you stumble upon a previously undiscovered plane crash site containing the remains of a wealthy knife dealer returning from a show in the year 2005 along with all the best blades available in that year. All are in unusable shape except for one.

Which one would you wish for and why?

"Phased plasma rifle in da forty watt range."

Mayor McCheese virus especially engineered for certain genetic types. (Oh wait, knife content),

And I'd smear it on my Grandfathers WWII bayonet and let them get a taste of... pickles!
