This is a new thread on the same subject -- safety! The old thread was too long.

In case anybody is wondering the khukuri is a 20 inch Ang Khola.

Bill,

Is that you in the picture? I know you're bigger-than-life, but you make that 20" AK look mighty small!

You're a funny guy, Bill.

If it was Cliff in that picture I might believe it could be a 20".

"Oh, a magic khukuri. Why didn't you say so?"

Thank you for recycling this type of warning periodically.

Our fingers also thank you (every single intact digit).

This warning is very valid. When I first saw the pics, I realized that I was drawing my khukuri wrongly. If not for the high quality of the sheath, I fear that I may have cut myself a long time ago. The point would be to realize how easy it is to make such a mistake.

Hi Bill Amca and other friends

Although I read this thread before, I unsheathed my AK in wrong way and cut my finger badly recently.

When I first read this thread, I thought that it did not tell me other that what I already knew. However I ended up cutting my finger almost in same position that Bill Amca described.

As everbody knows, khukuris are powerfull and heavy knives, and easily cut through many things with their own weight. (Especially mine is the heaviest model of 15" AK)

So listen what Bill Amca says, for the sake of your fingers, please be carefull.

I really would like to see more safety advices if anybody has..
