You may have read in some of the other posts that thebladeshop does not have a great reputation.

Well I will have you know thebladeshop is actually now maliciously trying to cheat me! After having waited and waited for my order to come in, I finally sent them an e-mail saying Please Cancel My Order and directed my credit card company to reverse the charges. Low and Behold, one week later I get an e-mail saying my order is on its way. (And by the way, not just the order I had canceled, but according to the e-mail THE WRONG KNIFE.). So I immediately "returned to sender" when it arrived. Now TheBladeShop is petitioning my credit card company to reinstate the charge because they sent me my knife.

So lets recap, one week after I requested (by e-mail, but what choice did I have??? I have tried calling calling calling in the past.) my order be canceled and my credit card company reversed the charges, thebladeshop sent the order anyway and now is trying to get my credit card company to pay them. Does that sound like a scam to anybody else?

And I would really really really like to know why they are so much more responsive to my credit card company when it reversed the charges than it ever was to me.

So Will, if you are out there! Fix this one! Order 17661

They have crossed the line from deliquent to out-right crooked and no one in their right mind should order from these guys EVER. And until they stop petitioning my credit card company for money, thats my line and I am sticking to it.

This company really does appear to be a joke. Please people, totally avoid doing any business with The Blade Shop. There are so many honest online knifeshops to deal with that not one cent should go to such a pathetic farce of a company.

Contact your credit card company and tell them what has happened. Tell them that the chargeback is to stay. They may require proof that you refused delivery.

Could you recommend any? Because I'd really like to get those two knives I mentioned in the other Bladeshop thread sometime in this lifetime.

As for the proof, thats actually my worry right now. That because I just hastily marked the package "Return to Sender" that these bozos may actually convince my credit card company to give them the money. (Despite the fact that they had no right to send the package at that point anyway.)

I guess my lesson is, whenever dealing with a crooked company, don't do anything that can't be tracked and proven.

My feeling of helplessness in dealing with this company is why I am posting here. Because, I figure that if I can use what happened to me to convince a few other potential customers to not use them, then I am tipping the economics of cheating me. That is, get $70 from me via underhanded methods but lose $140 of other business. But the again, thebladeshop may consider anybody who reads bladeforum to be a lost customer at this point anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I used savonswordandknives and knifeworks.

If by some miracle mine does come from bladeshop, I'll just keep the extra SUBCOM as a spare.

My wife bought some knifes from them last November for my Christmas present.

They charged her credit card a week after she placed the order (pre-Thanksgiving).
Two weeks, no knives.

Called them, they promised we would have the knives before Christmas, and that they would refund the charges until the knives were shipped.

The charges were never refunded, and Christmas came and went with no knives.
I called them in early January, and was told that they had shipped out that morning.
2 weeks, no knives.

They finally showed up in late January.

I will never do business with them again.

Took my order about 2 months too.. Card was charged right away..
Finally did get what I ordered, but it took way too long...

Prolly won't be spending any more $$ there..!

Sounds to me like they are using your money (via credit card charges) to go buy the knife and then ship it to you when it arrives, they maintain a low overhead that way!

And an even lower customer base. Eight days and counting....

Thanks again for the sugesstions on those other places, guys. Both knives from savon and knifeworks have arrived. I got a kabar warthog (Earlier in the week) and a SUBCOM F (That just arrived like 5 mins ago and I can't stop playing with it. :D ) Love them both!

As for bladeshop, it's going to be 2 weeks come this Monday and still nothing. And I haven't gotten an e-mail repsonse from one I sent earlier in the week.

They can just deal with my credit card company from here on in. Nonsense and my money don't mix.

What are you guys complaining about? I bought a Skirmish from these scammers and paid for next day shipping.

It got to me two months later after the guy on the phone told me he was "Lookin' right at it".

Never again.

Just a quick question - did you send the cancellation of the order electronically and if so, do you have a copy of said cancellation? If so, they really will have a hard time convincing your credit card provider to charge you with the order.

Also, if the package was sent via UPS or other common carrier, the tracking number on the package will show it was returned.

Unless the laws on this have changed, if you receive an item from a seller you did not purchase, and this includes cancelled orders and such, you are not required to pay for the item. It's an unsolicited delivery of goods, or at least it was in the early 90's (last time I looked at this)

Thanks for the continuing heads-up about these guys and this is another reason why my production knives come from New Graham, 1sks, or you guys on the forums.

It really seems that there is a huge difference in the online knife stores. It seems like there are good and bad. I have only ordered from online knife shops a few times. I get some from E-bay but the vast majority from felllow members on this board. I have had far better luck dealing with members here than E-gay or online shops.

Many of the online shops are drop shippers which means they don't have the actual knife in their warehouse. In fact some of these places do not have a wharehouse or a store front of any kind. Many are just some dude sitting at his computer like you and me. For some reason we are supposed to pay him just as much as the the real compnay with employees and overhead. Forget that. I don't deal with drop shippers. I think that they should have to inform the customer what they are.

It's a horrible story, what cheap scamsters!
I tried to set up a BLACKLIST thread recently but nobody really responded, maybe there are legal aspects. But these types need 'outing'

The blade shop has a nice website actually. Pretty misleading.

I ordered a lansky sapphire stone from them. I'm used to ordering stuff online and getting prompt service. I wasn't getting it from the blade shop and finally had to get nasty with Will, the guy defending his company on here. I FINALLY got my stone and decided to not do business with them anymore. I keep hearing bad things about them here. They might as well hang it up. Maybe they have Steve Corkum working for them... lol!

New Graham knives all the way!
