Title says it all. It's about that time of year so I'm looking for out-of-doors type gadgets for gifts. I know this has sorta been covered by the recent "less than $10 thread" but there is a lot that is missed at the $10 mark. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You can find a number of SAK's for less than $20, especially if you look around a bit. My local Target had one of the Leatherman Juice models (can't remember which one) on clearance for $19.95. Maglights also come to mind.

How about LED lights? The CMG Infinity and the Princeton Tec Attitude are under $20.00 and are great. Swiss Army knives like the Victorinox Soldier and the Tinker are handy items for the outdoors also under $20.00

GLOWRINGS!

A CMG Ultra AA LED light is a good gadget along with the ARC AAA LED light.

You then should get a "SWISS" Army knife - a Victorinox Spartan in my case.

Spyderco Ladybug

A streamlight key-mate, not to be confused with the cuff-mate. Cost me 13 bucks shipped and is brighter that an Arc AAA and smaller too. It uses 4 watch like batteries which are included and has a runtime of 96 hours. Machined aluminum, I was freakin' amazed at the quality for 13 bucks.

Hey George...

Thanks alot for the plug..

I'm happy that you like the holster..

May it serve you well!

Swiss Tech Utili-Key or Screwzall - I don't own these, but they look useful.

Fiskars or Wiss shears - It might be blasphemy on this forum, but I like these better than knives for some tasks...;)

leatherman micra,,16.96 at wally world
brinkman legend lx(lithium xenon)flashlight at wally world for 18.98
gerber LST magnum was 20.00 @ smoky mtn knife works
as well as the mini LST (less than 20)
spyderco ladybug at new graham for 17.67
serbertech serbertool m2 for 17.62 @ newgrahm
photon 3 keychain light will go under 20 bucks
arc aaa misses the 20 dollar mark by 3 bucks but its a heck of a light and well worth the extra 3 clams
Thats all I can think of right now...

Screwzall - 2 thumbs up.
Utilikey - never could figure out how to use it without removing part of my anatomy.
Sebertech M2 - Clasp on keyring is too loose, mine kept coming off. I would go to use it and end up finding it in the car seat or somewhere like that. Otherwise I loved it.
Batonlite - very solid light, but the N cell batteries are more expensive and shorter lived than I like. I am going to sell or trade mine if I get around to it. It has been played with and left on by my daughter once too often.
Micra - Great litle tool for the price.
Space Pen - Very solid and reliable, but does not handle being laundered as well as I wish it had.... Just need to get a refill. It still writes nicely once wiped off, but blobs up when left alone for a while.
Arc AAA - Batteries are so much more convenient than the Photons'. Still, I would not be without a Photon or 2. More people have a congenital fear of that dark than a fear of not being able to cut something, however misguided that may be.

Just picked up a couple of Gerber Urban Legend multitools on clearance at Target for less than $14 each. Also picked up some Victorinox Swiss Army Signature II pocket knives for $3.24 each at the same time.

Piece of rope.Yep I said rope.I give a gift to each of my hunting partners each year, one year I got them 25 feet of rope.Tie a figure 8 on one end,add a 'biner. The uses are plenty, drag your deer, line your canoe, tie your self in your stand if you forget/lose your harness or just tie stuff on your car.I have even used mine to help people make it up a steep wet hillside while hiking.:) Another time when I could not find the lower steps I remove from my tree's i made a couple loops in the rope tied it on the tree and with a little work was able to reach the next steps.

Nothin' like a good piece of rope.;)
