Who has a song that they think represents them well?

Back in the day when we had cool radio call signs, (it's now a 3 digit #, how thrilling  ), mine was 'werewolf'. Over the years, and a few tattoos, the nickname stuck. A few years ago, a girl on my facility who knows me well, (she's into the whole SCA thing so we blade talk), came to me and said, "I just heard a song that made me think of you". It's been my unofficial theme song ever since.

Oh, do not seek to know what lies
behind these mild and patient eyes.
For I have seen the demons power-
and even let the monster run
in certain unforgotten hours.

The fires that sleep within the blood
can waken to a burning flood-
that sweeps away whatever moves
before the wordless killer's eyes,
Oh, do not cry to see it proved.

So, leave the devil where it lies,
cast no blood into my eyes,
and never place my life in threat.
For when the monster comes alive
if you survive, you won't forget.

The roar when language falls away-
the vision leeched to black and grey-
the speed that makes the wind feel slow,
the strength beyond the bone's design.
These are the signs I too well know.

I wear my weapons openly.
Tolerant, kind, though I must be.
I keep the Fenris-wolf in rein.
But this much warning I must give-
that while I live the Beast remains.

Leslie Fish - 'Berserker'. Thank you Raven, Bladewolf.

Aint That A Kick In the Head

How lucky can one guy be?
I kissed her and she kissed me.
Like a fella once said:
"Ain't that a kick in the head?"
The room was completely black,
I hugged her and she hugged back.
Like a sailor said quote:
"Ain't that a hole in a boat?"
My head keeps spinnin',
I go to sleep and keep grinnin'
If this is just the beginnin'
My life is gonna be beautiful.
I've sunshine enough to spread,
It's just like the fella said.
Tell me quick,
ain't that a kick in the head?
She's telling me we'll be wed,
She's picked out a king size bed,
I couldn't feel any better or I'd be sad.
Tell me quick,
Oh, ain't that a kick...?
Tell me quick,
ain't that a kick in the head?

My Brother once told that his theme song was, "Shot Down In Flames", by AC/DC. Reason being? All the women that have rejected him over the years.

Maybe not a theme song 'cause it's an instrumental but Rude Mood by SRV,was always a benchmark for a lot of me and my guitar buds. It's kinda' like takin' a shot at Jimi's Star Spangled Banner with the same results,ie,ya' will fall short. If ya' haven't heard it,enlighten yourself,it's the 6th song on his first album,Texas Flood.
It's also a cool knife song,IMO. :D Doug.

Led Zeppelin's "Ten Years Gone", from their 1975 double LP Physical Graffiti. Every time I listen it just sums it up pretty well. Plus I just like the song! :D

Redemption Song - Bob Marley

A bit of a cliche I know but I first heard it on Lovina beach, the north side of Bali, after a 7 hour mountain bike crossing of the island. I was sitting waist deep in the water, pleasantly exhausted, enjoying a Bintang and watching a lighting storm over Java flash the horizon purple. The little beach bar was a shrine to Bob Marley and all the waiters had a repitoire on acoustic guitar. One of them was sitting under a palm tree playing redemtion song - I really heard a couple of the lines and they've been like a mantra for me ever since.

"Emancipate yourself from mental slavery,
none but ourselves can free our own minds...."

"If" - but not the original version by Bread.

No, I mean the cover version by Telly Savalas.

(Good Ol' Boys)

Just'a good ol' boys
Never meanin' no harm.
Beats all you never saw
Been in trouble with the law
Since the day they was born

Staightnin' the curves
Flatnin the hills
Someday the mountain might get 'em
But the law never will

Makin' their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more
Than the law will allow.

Makin' their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more
Than the law will allow.

I'm a good ol' boy
You know my momma loves me
But she don't undestand
They keep a showin my hands and not my face on TV
=============================

Anyone that knows me well could have seen that one coming amile away for sure.
