As my time here on BFC has advanced I started spending a little more time in the GBU. It is sad to see some of the sorry people who take advantage of our great hobby. That said, I wanted to make a couple threads about some of the good I have experienced!
When I was new to serious knife collecting/using, as with many folks, it became clear I would need to try a PM2. It was my first Spyderco. Once I got past the hole in the blade I came to accept Spyderco's many wonderful models. I loved everything about the PM2 except the Pocket Clip! My other regular carry knives for the most part had a deep carry clip which I like a lot. The PM2 stayed home a lot for only this reason! I tried an after market titanium clip from a well known knife supply store. It was way too big and wonky for the delicate and well thought out PM2. I looked at a custom aftermarket clip but it seemed ridiculous to spend a third of the cost of the knife on a clip. This would take the PM2 out of an acceptable price range IMO.
I searched and searched and eventually came across theoriginalspaceman and his custom clips! These are amazing! Cost is very reasonable. He makes different sizes. The fit and finish is great. Casey is also excellent to deal with. Very professional. The two orders I have done with him have gone very smoothly. When he is in between batches, he keeps his prospective customers totally in the know about delivery times! Also, no payment until he ships! Further, he kept in communication with me, not vice versa. When the batch was done I got an email from him! Casey is a true teastement to how good this hobby can be and what a great community we have here on BladeForums.com.
As you can see in the pics below, I use these clips for mare than just the PM2. With a little modding to the hole size these clips turn my beater Enlan knives into something I can carry again because they are deep carry like my ZTs & Benchmades!
