There are some new abilities of an old acquaintance Buck Ecolite.

"Gammon (from the Old French "gambon" - ham) comes from the hind hip joint area, so it's like a cross between bacon and ham."

This is what I found on gammon. Is this correct?

Yes, actually I meant high hip meat part of the mutton leg ( above knee joint). It has happened sorta of direct copy from Russian language, which is not always right way to translate anything into English.
We say "mutton leg" or "pork leg" when we mean ham ( meat) from high hip part of a hind leg of those animals.
I would like to see your butcher work and "mutton leg" of American style.
