These are all such incredible knives!

But since there can only be one, I will have to go with the D-guard by D. Franco.

It just does "it" for me the most. Its elegance, flow, profile, size, and its "dark" theme all work so beautifully together. One of the best things about it though, for me personally, is the damascus and the way it dazzles in the light; the patterning was just so perfectly done.

Congrats to all the finalists!

Had to vote for the Franco... it’s pure class and elegance

Either way all of them are very impressive. Great thread this year, as always

Nice lineup. I practically have a fit trying to vote to narrow down.

Final vote this year was not as hard as some years. Just in love with the Franco D guard.

The Queensberry dogbone really pleases my eyes also.

I'd be thrilled to own any of these pieces, but when voting, in this thread, I have to look at little details.

Rightfully so the Franco piece is killing it

Wonderful piece and very justified

I just missed the vote, but it looks like the knife I would have chosen won anyway. That Franco was truly stunning. But that Quesenberry Dogbone was a close second for me. I have never really seen a Dogbone that I wanted before. But I had felt that way about D-Guard Bowies too.

Polls still open vote

Well a big congrats to Dionatam Franco for his spectacular D-Guard bowie, clearly the runaway favorite among this impressive field of finalists. The knife jumped out to an immediate lead in the voting and never looked back.

Thanks to my co-host Lorien for running round 2 of this contest and helping with the tabulation of votes in round 1.

Thanks to all the makers for their impressive 2017 bowies, and a special thanks to those who actively participated in the discussion, nomination and voting in this thread. The fact that the winning knife was nominated by another maker is something that makes me smile.

Happy 2018 everyone - we'll do this again in 12 months.

And congrats again to Dionatam!

Many thanks, Roger and Lorien, for one of the "most looked forward to" weeks of the year,
and congrats to D. Franco and all the contestants.

Nice one, Rog! Already looking forward to next year

Just got back from an extended vacation... wut I miss? Was there a contest or sumpin?

Lol... congrats Mr. Franco!

Friends,
I would like to thank you all for the affection and confidence you have shown in my work through your votes.
I would especially like to thank my friends John Doyle and Scurvy, as they indicated my parts and helped me make it a dream come true!
When I saw the indications of my pieces, next to fantastic knife makers, I already felt very happy. Then came the top 5, I almost could not believe it. And then the final and my knife was elected champion, It's almost impossible to believe !!!!
Many thanks to all the friends who support my work and give me the dream of living the art of cutlery.
Ben Seaward , thank you for your words, you are a big great friend!
Mike Quesenberry, thank you one more time my friend!
Thank you, thank you for the opportunity.
Best regards From Brazil,

Franco
