I've been thinking about my collection as of late and thinking of what folding knives i would keep if I could only keep 2.
Mine are the:
Benchmade 477-1 3.5" Emissary large aqua scales
ZT 0561 with the bronze screws and stand offs I bought for it

What are the two you couldn't be with out?

All the threads we've had asking this exact question aside, there's no way I'd ever be able to limit myself to just two knives. My list of knives I couldn't be without is a tad larger.

Okay you can pick 3 :D

It would probably change from day to day, but right now I'll go with my Viper Rhino and G Sakai Field Man Trekking Tool.

To make it interesting I am going to assume I can only have two knives period. (including kitchen knives)

1. Phil Wilson Southfork- this could handle all my fish cleaning duties and double as an effective kitchen kitchen knife and steak knife.
2. Spyderco Paramilitary 2- Probably the best balance of size/balance/ability that I have used in a folding knife.

My Ratweiler and my Southard. I think that these two would cover the widest assortment of needs that I have, or may have for that matter.

Victorinox Climber. Buck 110. If I get three, the other would be my Spyderco Endura. Yeah, I'm boring when it comes to knives.

Buck Vantage Select (Large), and Spyderco Pingo. The buck has one of the best price/quality ratios in the knife world IMHO, and the Spyderco Pingo is so light and easy to carry.

Two folding knives? This question reminds me of some gun forum questions only change the question to firearms! Grin.

I only use fixed blade knives now but IF I still used folding knives... it would be the BUCK 110 and the BUCK '55' which I still think highly of. I gave my Buck folding knives to my husband recently. I would still keep and use them if I did not have good and bad days with my hands. He loves the Buck knives that I gave him too. He is carrying the '55' on a daily basis now.

(I kept my Buck fixed blade knives! Ranger Skinner #113 and the Vanguard.)

All of my folding/pocket knives have been gifted now.

My husband gifted some very nice folding/pocket knives on Sunday and Monday to some friends. Not counting our other knife gifts - this last group came to 7 knives. He plans to gift some other knives to some more friends and charity too.

PS: I am trying out my husband's TOPS Cougar Claw fixed blade knife a bit now too.
ADDED MORE and typos!

I would absolutely have to keep my BK9 for the larger jobs. And, as a sidekick, my Spyderco Gayle Bradley would do very nicely.

I would keep a sentimental Benchmade 710 and my CRK Sebenza 25.

I can't for the life of me think of any situation where I could only have two of my folders; if the wife ever said I "had to", I would tell her she "had to" to find a new man and I would leave, with all.

Maybe if a fire broke out in the back bedrooms area, and I was left with just what is in my pocket, then;

But I would probably grab my 3 work Knives on my way out (schade 220, combo blur, wingman), and if i wasnt home when it happened, I would still have a Smith and Wesson border guard in the truck... If a fire broke out by the garage, I would almost certainly grab as many as I could out the bedroom, at least what's in my night stand and a small tacklebox...
In any scenario I would be back in the market for more asap.

I could "be without" all folding knives just fine. I went for many years never carrying one. In the made-up scenario under discussion, I would keep my Victorinox Cadet for general daily carry and a Victorinox Farmer for weekends.

A stockman like my Northwoods and a small Leatherman tool covers all I need. Gives me three different blades and a some tools.

As of today, I would grab the Moki Banff and the Condor Mini Duku Parang, and I believe.... they will cover all my needs....

Sorry, I was too fast to answer.... Folders only ? What a drag... Schatt & Morgan Kentucky Shiner Pint (in the small and handy area) and Viper Venator (in the bigger and tougher area)... Yes, I believe they can do whatever I need.
