Sent an email to Benchmade and Tops, hopefully they can shut this jackass down. At least from ebay. Jeez, he's even reproducing the logos with "Made in USA". Doesn't look like he's selling much, but there are a lot of uneducated people out there who might jump on this because they recognize a name.

Considering the guy's in China, there's no real legal course of action that they can pursue. That's why so many things are bootlegged in Asia. All we have against it is 'Caveat emptor'.

You mean that's not a real Benchmade Hunt the knife?
I mean, the handle even creates for red and colorful wood in Taiwan! What the hell is the matter with you? Do you just not care about the wood in Taiwan? Stop being so selfish and care about the trees a little bit.
Just makes me so damn angry.

How do they get by with that? Something about misrepresenting the country of origin is illegal or do the Chinese get a break?

Forget where it was made, how could you not buy it after a description like this:

"Butterfly of a the style hunts the knife, this knife mainly provides the exit the United States.
The blade is sharp and strong and tough, a point of a knife of pike suits to wear to stab specially.
The knife handle creates for red and colourful wood in Taiwan, fructify enduring"

Ebay are unlikely to do anything unless they think they might lose money somehow. Benchmade could threaten Ebay in which case they might take the ads off but there is nothing they can do about the knockoffs made in China.

"...takes the black of imitate the reflection especially the man dragon draws the layer, the knife body contain the marking that the American butterfly knife has the company."

They're made by man dragons?!? Sweet!

I don't know about you but if I was going to try and sell something in a non English speaking country I'm pretty sure I'd be trying to find somebody from that country to translate what I wanted to say into that language.

I'm certainly not going to try and translate it into Chinese or use one of those web translation tools. I'd probably end up asking people if I could rape their cat or something.

Mind you, it does have a certain amusement value. :)

Wow! He even tried to fake his feedback! Check it out.

You gotta admit the Chinese are masters of counterfeiting. For all the energy they put into making cheap copies of stuff, you'd think they'd be able to create something really good...

BESIDES Chinese Food. :D

Well, the ancient Chinese did invent some of our most important inventions, like paper, the toothbrush, paper money, the wheelbarrow, the helicopter rotor & propeller, the decimal system, the seismograph, matches, the rocket (and multistage rocket), and they had distilled alcohol (like brandy and whiskey) a few centuries before europe did.

They also invented the clock too, then lost it somehow and were later amazed when one was brought in from Europe.

I don't think anyone is suggesting they can't make good things, they just wish they WOULD make their own good things and not be so eager to allow cheap knockoffs of other people's designs.

They just have a different way of looking at things.

The Chinese invented one of my most favorite things; gunpowder.

How does that old saying go??? "A little English is a dangerous thing?"

HAHAHAHAHA, AWSOME!

one of you should be able to get his auctions pulled by contacting eBay thru their Safe Harbor system. it doesn't take very much at all. if they even remotely believe that the items are illegal or counterfeit, they will usually take them down.

i know, 'cause i do it all the time to people selling copied games and such. it's fun. :D lemme see if i can find the link somewhere (it's hard to get thru eBay).

abe m.

Sorry folks, but I couldn't resist sharing this one from the same menu:

"The Strider cooperates with the Buck knife factory, the special forces folding knife from a navy of the weapon and safe expert the Steve Tarani design, now already drive the American solider's special forces SOCOM unit adoption. From the Mick Strider similar to the Strider knife factory of the Duane Dwyer establishment is the elephant special forces have the brand of the mysterious legend color, the high-quality knife that their handicraft produce has to allege is" for dauntless person but high-speed tool that build." ROFLMAO! :D

These descriptions are just too funny! If I was making a bit more money this year, I'd send Mr. Tarani, and a video crew, a return ticket to confront this guy. Now THAT would be a "reality show" worth watching!

(of course, what isn't funny - the multiple copyright infringements.)

I posted something about this guy's auctions a couple of weeks ago and had my post killed by the mods for auction spotting..... :( Oh well, at least he's out in the open now and had the hounds set upon him :)

Cockroach: Maybe we can get a forum donation thing going to fund the expedition and also send the Strider guys over.... :D Then we can sell the videos and buy Sebenzas for everyone

Before anyone else tries to muscle in, I got dibs on "Fructify Enduring" as my BFC alter-ego. :D
