There HAS to be a way to stop this crap.

I picked several of those auctions at random and reported them as counterfeit. That was a few hours ago. I have no idea how long these things take, and I'm not holding my breath. I even sent the seller a question regarding the BuckMaster; he insists it's real and that BuckMasters are made in Taiwan. I replied with another e-mail with links to BuckMaster history, photos of what a BuckMaster really looks like, and a link to these forums where knife experts are discussing his auctions.

Yeah, I noticed his good seller rating. Suprisingly the positive feedback was from another non-English speaker, probably his brother, friend, or alter-ego.

Let's buy the "Strider", beat the heck out of it and send it to Strider for repair with a note saying you just got back from Iraq and "Thanks, it served me well!" . :D

Sent an email to Benchmade and Tops, hopefully they can shut this jackass down. At least from ebay. Jeez, he's even reproducing the logos with "Made in USA". Doesn't look like he's selling much, but there are a lot of uneducated people out there who might jump on this because they recognize a name.

Naw, people who buy benchmade know you can't get one for $24 and people looking for cheap knives don't know what benchmade is.

What is a TOPS anti-perhaps military tactics knife?

I love the descriptions, they are like crazy word puzzles. (Or unbalanced phrase toys), I don't think he used a dictionary to translate, I think he used a thesaurus.

I can't believe he has such high prices for this stuff.

Man, when Benchmade was said to be going overseas with some of their product line, I didn't think they would be going THAT FAR overseas.

The disappointing thing is... add the $35 SHIPPING and it's NOT that cheap of a knife!!!

$60 is a good chunk towards the real thing

The Mike Fuller, the TOPs a son, always notices very much to infuse into the new blood for his company, being in use the New appointee design and the manufacturing knifes to have courageously, he adds towards having the person's green eye that the special forces undergoes military service the career particularly, aggravating to use fully.

I would love to see the guys who write like this write an entire book. I reckon it would be a hit all around the world. Make more money from it than selling cheap and nasty knife knockoffs.

They're made by man dragons?!? Sweet!

A gentleman does not publicly discuss the exploits of his man dragon. :p :D

Even better would be the books on tape version read by William Hung from American Idol!

That cracked me up
The knife handle for antiskid design, if ever the sweat contain water also will not beat slippery.
Umm what?
Honestly, if your willing to pay more for shipping than for the actual item, you kind of deserve this. I would like to see this guy shut down though, I'm sure someone got a deal that was quite literally too good to be true.

Word on the BM forum is that Benchmade is working on taking action against this clown.

They won't be able to do anything other than perhaps get the auction closed on Ebay. Knocking off Western products is not only perfectly legal in China, it is encouraged. Or, better, they could forego plans to do manufacturing in China and that would be a plus. The Chinese don't feel the same way about intellectual property as we do.

I got a kick out of "FALLKNIVEN In this world most Johnson saves the knife", my Johnson has saved me from a lot of things but never my knife... although it has been called the Sword of Life but that's a more private matter...

On a side note, we have a chinese restaraunt that we go to quite a bit. One evening we were there for dinner and right next to our table was a No Soliciting sign.... I told my wife to be careful because we were in the no soliciting section (she being in sales and all), the other side of the restaraunt had no sign, so it had to be the Soliciting section.... ;)

The weird thing was our side had no ashtrays either.

Questions from other buyers

Q: Hi!Howcome these knives come so cheap from you? Are these originals or not? Thanks answered on: Jan-27-05
A: hello,I do not know the price of these knifes, these knifes are my friend of dyings to collect

Maybe the seller is legit and is selling his dying friends knives.Who knows?tom.

Actually, they aren't cheap at all. I recently saw an importer's website with price lists for similar knives. Most of those Chinese knives, even the large survival knives, are worth $3.49 each.

I'd also like to add another opinion. I don't really mind cheap imports that are knockoffs of 'real' knives. For the most part they can't be mistaken for the genuine knife, and buyers of the $10 fakes aren't the same target market as would buy the $150 brand-name knives.

What I do mind are idiots like this guy trying to push his junk off as the real thing, and playing stupid when the obvious is brought to his attention. I e-mailed him last week and told him that the Taiwan survival knife was not a real Buckmaster and that the difference was obvious. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I even e-mailed a link with photos and info on the real BuckMaster. His reaction, reply to my email with some unintelligible "no, it's real" crap, and continue the auction unaltered.

Ebay apparantly was also unresponsive to my fraud complaint. Yep, as long as they get their fees they probably don't care. But they don't realize the bad rep they're getting, and the post-auction dispute settlements are going to cost them more than halting the questionable auctions in the first place.

His supposed Emerson Commander is up over $100 now. :barf: I hope it's someone just running the bid up to a million$$ or something, but I don't think that's the case. Has anyone that's contacted ebay about him gotten any response?
