There's an auction for some knives and there's that Halo VI on the bottom of the picture there. What are the odds it's a counterfeit? Their pictures are terrible, and they won't take better, and no I can't go check in person (my brother would be picking it up)
Update: eh, I passed on it. Auction went for $304. Fair chance someone got a sweet deal 🤷

meh... don't do it

There's a clue here ! 🤔

Just not hard to take a decent pic these days , so I'd not risk it .
They sell thousands of knives in various lots each month. I got one auction for about $300 with a legit glykon and a UTX75 and a bunch of other random knives. The workers just don't care to take good pics ha.

I've picked up a few of their auctions that had legit ones. They just confiscate them I think. It's government auction stuff.
Given this kind of mixed source auction and no clear photos , then I really don't know how to determine your risk .

Roll the dice , or don't .

"pictures are terrible"

"can't go check in person"

Unreliable source.

And a heavily counterfeited knife.

What could possibly go wrong?

Reliable source. I've seen plenty of legit knives at their auctions (when I lived close and could go see.) I got a super clean glykon from them once, among others

If you got a real Microtech from a government auction, I'd call that luck. And getting lucky doesn't make them a reliable source.

It's a government auction, not an authorized vendor. They sell knives confiscated from random people, in a world awash in counterfeits, and I seriously doubt they bother to verify the authenticity of the knives.

If you consider them such a reliable source, why did you start this thread asking "what are the odds it's a counterfeit?". If you have to ask such a question, then it doesn't sound like a reliable source to me.

A reliable source is one that will sell you a REAL knife every time, and you don't have to worry about wasting money on a fake.

Good luck with your bidding.
