there's just something about brass, fine wood, and 440C

Sitflyer, you got me to dig out my 112 and put it in the pocket, came in handy today too.
There is just something special about them, something the 110 doesn't have. I like 'em.

Some really beautiful Bucks shown.

Since I have it out, does anyone know how old it is, or what what kind of wood was used?
thanks guys

I like the rich looking ebony, polished brass and 440C blade too. 300, to me the segua wood handles takes the package a step up. Even though the micarta model is earlier I like the wood models. DM

Now you go for these two.......300

Micarta and Segua

Hi 300Bucks -

Yes! I had to really work to get the micarta version, but man I lucked out on the Shedua (or Segua) - I got that one on the 'bay when I looked at the pictures and saw that there was something about the wood on that knife. I got it for under $30, but it has a couple of chips in the blade....

The Shedua is the top one in the following picture -

Sitfler, you dahh Man.
Thanks for the info, I'm not very good at researching this stuff, and I'm far behind in my knowledge.

O'yeah, thanks for starting this thread, I think you've unlocked a hidden love for the Ranger.

You guys made me look at the one's I found not as nice as they have been in a box for a long time maybe they deserve the buck spa treatment everybody talks about, great pics, nice rangers, and thanks for sharing

If that opposite old no dot scale is like the one on this side, it is one of or the best Ranger scales I have seen. Your other thread shows it in best light. The other one ain't shabby either. You polish that good one up and grown men might cry.....

As 300 noted.......that REALLY is some beautiful wood on that one 112.

Don't see that kind of grain much. The brass also looks different for some reason.

Thanks BG42
I think I will send in for the spa treatment and then post some pics thanks for the comments and Thanks for all the help as I am just getting started with the bucks

nutoknives, that's a beautifull pair of 112's....
thank you for sharing...

I like 440c steel a lot but I thought that buck knives were 420hc ??-btw some beautiful knives

Thanks for starting it, as I just finished with Kabars and saw your thread so I had to see what was in some of the boxes I had in the closet and yes they all are great looking knives that everybody shows do not see to many ugly ones here I got a few heavy used 110's as this was 1 of my cousins favorite but he had alot of favorites as I have over 300 knives now and started with only 20 or so. He passed and his collection became mine just trying to learn as there are alot of variations and styles and all forum members are awsome with knowledge and help. Thanks again for starting thread as now I have alot of work to do.
