Hello all,
I ran across someone selling a Barnstead Thermolyne FA1635 furnace with a Furnatrol II Type 13300 controller. I have not been able to find out much online about whether this is a good furnace for heat treating knives. Can someone help me out? I can pick it up, with controller for $800.

Those are muffled industrial kilns, and very well made. The chamber size is usually not all that deep, though..... 13", IIRC.
IIRC, that controller is a basic PID type and may not be programmable for multi steps with hold times. If that is correct, it will only be good for HT on carbon blades.
