These are nearly virgin

Very, very nice pics. You're right -- those are extremely clean.

Near-perfect examples of the species.:cool:

And no one mentions the Ghost Steel Heart?(I know there was something implied, but no actual mention made)

Might be the 2nd Hardest, one of six, or seven made, Busse knives to find and buy?

The hardest, toughest being The HOOD by Busse.

You Done Real Good there.

I am both Proud of you and a little excited.

Edited to add

This might well be the most collectable Steel Heart II made.

While there are lots of fancy one of a kind Variants, this was a production knife of which very few were made.

Sought after to finish some very worth while large collections.

The Steel Heart II is the most commonly collected older Busse with lots of little variations from Steel made from, length and thickness of blade to types of handles and finish and a very few with logos of any sort with a story to go along with each as to where it fits in the Steel Heart II production time line.

Made at a time when Factory Satin and logo were each a rare thing, and to have both included in one knife, all by it's self makes this knife special, then add to that the very few made?

I'm happy about the Ghost....

Really more thankful than happy, two guys passed on this one and a good friend considered me and made it so I could have it.

So thanks for the kind comments

I understand there were six at one time and then someone sent one of them to be worked on and the guy working on it ended up grinding off the Ghost

Man that had to HURT:grumpy:

When the Ghosts were made the only one in the shop doing edges was Jerry as best as I can remember, He was looking for some one with real skills for that but had not at that time found anyone.

Maybe Jerry will tell people how many of the large asyms he could sharpen in a hour, pretty amazing stuff.

I have had a few Busse knives that could slice hanging hair into fuzzy strips, best I ever saw, but I have also seen a few that were plenty sharp enough to spread peanut butter, as long as it was smooth and not chunky, most fall in between somewhere.

To me that is the best edge EVER!!! It is sooooo easy to bring back.

When I first got some Basics I thought "man these are strange" then I got a real beat up B-3 that was so used that the side of the edge you strop was so rounded and warn that there was no grind left on the other side. You couldn't have torn paper with that thing it was actually blunt!

It was back to shaveing in about 20 minutes with an edge pro and a strop. I use that knife a lot and I can't recall having sharpened it ever agian or even touched it with a strop
