First Case knife purchase. A peanut. Fathers Day present to me from me. I was influenced by other members of this forum.

Aha, good choice. That Case will stick with you for a long, long time. My dad carries on every day. Well every day he doesn't carry his Medium Stockman.

Jim - Yes Tru-Sharp from 2001. The CV ones are harder to find, and handle choices are limited. I like the Amber Bone and the Antique Bone scales on recent Case knives.

Beautifull little knife, use in good health!:thumbup::thumbup:

Oh, and welcome to the world of peanuts, it's never going to be the same for you again. :D

The world was never the same once I started gathering knives. This will only be a sub-addiction. Your Choptank stories inspired me to "need" this knife Jackknife. I may whittle down a matchstick at both ends for a lit Pall Mall as a first chore. SunnyD, Thomason, and El Cuchillo get credit too. Thanks to all you guys. :)

:( It really bums me out that they don't make a cv in amber bone.

I know it's not exactly the same, but they do make damascus in amber bone. The damascus is by Devin Thomas and is supposedly very good.

I have a medium stockman in amber bone and damascus. Love it.

Nice knife Hal,
I just picked up a medium stockman in Amber bone for myself.

How about some stag and raindrop damascus? Not available yet but they are in the works and will be within a few months. Actually several patterns in stag and damascus coming. Go ahead and order one, thawk, you know you want one.:D

Oh yeah, I've seen em all right. That amber bone damascus in your handfull was the "that does it" peanut. I had to start somewhere. I liked the jigging on this knife, so... The Damascus will have to wait for awhile.

I have that same peanut. I love it! Mine was an anniverary gift last November, and I edc it at work five days a week when wearing dress pants. I would love a CV version, but the Tru-Sharp stainless is perfectly functional.

Welcome aboard, thawk. Glad to see you join us. The Peanut is the coolest small knife you can have. Don't underestimate it's size, either. It hangs with the big boys, and handles better then ALOT of small knives. My guess is, it was designed to work and work hard, size be damned. The tasks myself and others on here have accmplished with a Peanut are astonishing. Have fun with your new friend and enjoy. You'll fall in love soon, if you haven't already.
