Vet,
Why not contact Mike @ WOW and ask him? I'm sure he wants you to be happy with your purchase.

It was also pretty poor form to post this in a public forum, especially before asking Mike.

It's generally accepted common courtesy not to discuss the movement of potentially contraband items in the open.

The link below gives a break down of the state laws on possession and carry.
http://www.customknifes.com/SwitchbladeLaws.html

I have many friends that carry autos and they have adopted a "don't do anything to get caught" attitude. I don't know that I would endorse that. I agree with Will that you probably should call and talk to Mike. From what I have heard about 1SKS I am sure that he will make this right.

(Then again a switchblade at manual cost? Hard to pass up.)

might call mike later - and so what pub in a publicc forum, this aint grounds for PC i dont think, and ya'll dont have a clue who i am - and i aint callin cops lol- its also in poor form to ship autos across stae lines, to poor unsuspecting fools like me too bud.........so how would i ship it back, if i wanted too? - sure odds are no one would know, but w/my luck who knows? i cant take a chance like that? especially over bull**** like this.....after a lot of hard work, i get my MS in fall, and start to law school at a local university after LSAT, back ground check, passing admittance in the fall - and i dont need crap over a 2" auto, they would kick me outta law school faster than a cat can lick its @ss

The knife you ordered is an auto and at under 2 inches it is even legal in Kalifornication

But if you are concerned and have the original box, just mark it "Return To Sender" and I will take care of it. I will update the post as well. I thought I listed them as autos. My bad.

Uh, yes it IS in poor taste to post this in a public forum. You may not realize it, but posts like this make all BF members look like law breakers, intentionally or not. You should have emailed Mike first.

If you only have one arm they're legal most places.

The point is Mike was the owner of this forum and also 1 Stop so if you have a problem why not call him and work it out? What do you expect to get done by pissing and moaning here? We all know auto's can be a sensitive issue so why rub ones face in it? Did you even bother to post this on 1 Stops forum instead of going directly here to complain. Lets use a little common sense. I'm sure now it's Spark waiting with bated breath to help you out

aw poo poo - i am gonna keep the thing, my question was if the blade being under 2" would help - i can possess in tx as a 'curio' on my own property - which i discovered after looking imn the penal code which, upon reflection i shoulda done first - and not mentioned 1sks - but i certainly dont want or mean to get anyone in trouble, and have nothing but praise for mike and co - have done a lot of business w/them - so, sorry if offended, and will think first before engaging fingers in the future - sorry mike !!

There are many people in this forum who own autos where they are not permitted, who sell them to people who shouldn't (per law) own them, and who ship them across state lines to non-authorized people in violation of federal and state laws. The principle factor in this continuing is that it remains, like at shows, a "below the counter" segment of the hobby.

Yes, at shows, and often on line, we wink and laugh about it, but the truth remains that we are trafficking in a contraband item. It is only our treating this activity with respect and discretion that allows us to continue engaging in it.

I would be grateful for any information anyone can supply on the LEO auto knife exception in California (mentioned in Seth Thomas') post. I have been told that in California there is no auto or Bali Song exception for LEO under state law, but I haven't been able to confirm the accuracy of that information. I'm hoping it is not correct.

Thanks for any help,

DPD

ya known this is a bunch of bull**** - i have not done 1 thing wrong - i am the 1 w/the knife, basically stuck w/the thing - i must be crazy to apologize to anyone - if anything someone should apologize to me, for sending me contraband **** - so sorry if i fouled up anyones auto trading , etc but i seriuosly doubt that i did - i doubt the BATF (or whoever) monitors this forum, and even if they did - no probable cause for them to do anything at all anyway, and i'm sure this is not anything they have not heard/seen /caught people doing before - so **** this forum and the horse it rode in on

goodbye, enough of this ****
