So Long!

To have your problem...

The one you posted about, not the ones which were subsequently revealed during this "discussion".

Good luck in law school. The world needs more lawyers, especially lawyers with your intuitive grasp of courtesy and discretion.

.

The knife is legal, why worry? You can't have any knife on campus anyhow?

If you are into Law, why not look it up? All this because someone shipped you an auto? One of the great things about this place is we are all treated as adults (most of the time). Most dealers will do customers a 'favour' and ship items. Please understand that Mike would not have done this if he realised what your feelings were on this. Oh and I would have given it at least 7-10 days before going public, 3-days is a little hasty. I often don't get the chance to check my mail for 3-5 days. Please think about how 'other' people can read this and get Mike into trouble. I would ask Mike to delete this whole thread for the sake of sanity and to prevent harm to other members.

I have been a HUGE

hot shot a/hole in the past, please think before you fire a salvo. Don't make my mistake. We are generaly a good group here, very few of us really want to have a go (I hope). Please sort this out with Mike in private and leave it at that.

I don't mean to preach, but there we go.

No need to delete this post or anything. The guy has a valid point. Maybe better judgement on where he voiced his thoughts was in order but who really gives a ****? I don't at this point and I humbly apologize to him for sending the knife without warning. At 1SKS you can not order any auto without knowing UPFRONT that you may be breaking the law. But my post was not a part of BFC or 1SKS. The inventory is mine and mine alone and I should have put a disclaimer in the post. I will do that now.

Vet95lt1,

Please don't be upset with me or anyone here for voicing there thoughts either. When it comes to this particular subject we tend to be a little "edgy", pun intended

BTW I like your screen name. I drive a Vette too

You are a class act Mike for saying that. Nice to see that in todays world a person can show respect and honour. Then again, respect and honour is the norm for most knifenuts on this group. I will shut up now.

This has nothing to do with the mass of posting just a reply to one question. In the Communist State of CA, you must be an active LEO or active military, and have approval from your highest local ranking officer to carry or purchase an auto. Just a note on your Dept letter head stating that you are authorized to carry an auto is all it takes.

I personaly never had any use for an auto on duty. Sure they are cool, but just not needed in uniform. Show me auto that opens faster than my Crawford and I might change my mind.

Autos are only illegal in CA if the blade is over 2". There is a searchable penal code on the web, I think it's at leginfo.ca.gov or something like that, I have looked at it before. It only prohibits switchblades over 2". There is a store here in Visalia that sells switchblades made here, they are CA legal.

He should take Mike up on his offer to return the knife, and make things right.
I've yet to see a post accepting Mike's offer, but he just HAD to start another thread saying good bye to this 'horrid' place.

Well, IMHO, if he is going to be such an ass, maybe the best thing for him to do is leave, and start a new forum with some of his law school pals. They could call it the 'sphyncter boys' forum, for politically correct wanna be lawyers.

Good riddance, dicksmack.

It cuts both ways. Most of us here have been flamed in response to perfectly reasonable posts. If you're going to spend time on the internet, you'd better have a thick skin. This is no place for trembling lips and wet eyes. And after you've spent enough time on a board, you get a little tired of the newbie-with-an-attitude syndrome that seems so prevalent online.

I'll second that.

I am new here, so my opinion may not count for much but why dont we all be adults, and talk about knives? Thats what i signed up for. I think if Vet and Mike have a problem, lets let them settle it. Provoking people, when, obviously they are angry, is not going to have any positive results. All it does is promote hard feelings, with no good reason. Let the 2 of them settle it, and lets go on with life. Just my .02 worth.

Welcome Sifu,
I agree with you 100%, let's talk knives! I hate it when the bickering goes on.

But if you take a quick look at the posts, you'll notice that Vet95 "way" overreacted on this matter.
He was never flamed, but he did kind of flip out later on. In fact, I can't quite figure out what pushed his button! Weird huh?

Hello, Sifu. I agree with you too. On the other hand, Razor's right about developing a thick skin. There are bound to be disagreements and misunderstandings. I like Vet, he seemed okay to me, but then I can't condone his actions. I hope he comes back, but with a better attitude and a slower keyboard mindset.

Consider this though: when you are getting ready to ridicule or flame someone (deserved or not), pretend Brady, Shumer, Klinton, and all the other sheeple-rousers are watching, ready to pounce on and take your words out of context as "evidence" that we are a bunch of intolerant, bickering troublemakers, etc.

Personally, I've been treated GREAT here and I won't let any negative comments ruin my positive ******* attitude!
biggrin.gif

But I have to admit, sometimes a good flame war can be entertaining!

Not necessarily bad advice, but remember: there is nothing, I repeat, nothing different about posts here and posts on every other board on every other site across the entire Internet. 'Net denizens are remarkably consistent, and flaming and overreacting and the abuse of 'Net anonymity is universal.

Places like this are samplings of humanity's entire range of personalities. All kinds are present here. Sometimes you read a member's contributions over hundreds of posts and never detect any hypersensitivity or tendancy to anger or namecalling and then...WHAM! An ugly post, followed by a thread or two like this one. It is part of what makes this place interesting.
