Theyre Faking The AD10 Now

in those closeup pics of the fake you can see some of the imperfections ..

You'll have to get all the car manufacturers, toy manufacturers, knife manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, even food producers to stop buying from China. I doubt it will ever happen simply because cost and production capacity. We could move a lot of the production back to the US, create jobs, and have an economy less dependent on a foreign power, but cost of goods would go up and people would complain and buy less because their dollar doesn't go as far.

Chinese products are everywhere, and the driving force behind it is cost. I remember my wife watching shark tank one time (stupid show...) and that Lori chick telling a woman "you need to move production to China, otherwise you'll never make a profit". I understand you have to make a profit to continue running a business, but these people made millions selling cheaply made products at high prices. No thought at all to jobs they could have created for Americans, or quality it seems. Such is business.

I just don't see how the government has lasted this long. Seems communism has fallen everywhere except for China and North Korea. Democracy poses its own problems, but I would never want to be communist. That's probably worse than death.

On another note, I do have a custom buck 110 arriving today, and I won a 74-80 buck 110 yesterday on ebay... Go USA!
Yeah, most everyone only looks at price. So the cheapest garbage (counterfeits) get purchased a lot. You'd think the internet would've made people more willing to do their homework about stuff coming out of the PRC before buying, but it's just the opposite. Case in point, look at something called the Winchester Bowie. I know it ain't Cold Steel, but just an example. There is a youtube video showing the blade completely ripped up and ruined, like a tin can, just from chopping on logs. Obviously wasn't heat treated properly and probably was made of garbage steel. You can't trust anything coming out of the PRC. I wish people would at least do their research before ordering stuff.

Anyways, about the PRC and North Korea. Both totalitarian p.o.s. governments, oppressing their people. It was a big, big mistake for American and other western countries to set up manufacturing operations in PRC. Didn't they see that the PRC government would allow and encourage counterfeiting? They only saw cheap labor and short term profits, not the long run results. PRC is doing so well now that their horrible government will never going to collapse. PRC has taken totalitarianism to new heights (or lows, depending on your point of view.) And one historical note: if it weren't for the PRC, Korea would not be divided today. It was the PRC that killed almost 50,000 American soldiers and forced the division of Korea. North Korea's bumbling government is the total opposite of the PRC's brilliant economic thievery. North Korea might have collapsed already, but the PRC props it up, keeps the puppet show going.

As a knife forum, I just hope people read this thread and stop ordering counterfeits and garbage from the PRC. As far as American manufacturers ordering parts and such from there, hey, that's for another forum....

Hi All, It is amazing to find fake knives and as I am looking at buying a Cold Steel AD10 and cannot spot the differences between a real and a fake one, I have looked at the CS photos and a fake on DHgate shown here but they look the same to me? are there any other more obvious clues to look for, even the boxes look the same (I have come across someone selling a second hand one for half price on ebay but it may also be fake but not so cheap LOL (I would love to own one but have very limited finances eh) anyway thanks for any info .....

If the pictures are good enough post them on here for evaluation. Problem is many pictures are of lesser quality, I suspect on purpose sometimes. I would make sure their return policy is 100% satisfaction and their feedback is stellar. I have seen them on here for very reasonable prices, patience usually pays off, at least for me so far. Good luck.

There are very few legitimate sellers on evil bay. A few large sellers are legit. You have to do your homework on the seller, not just the item, to make sure you're buying from a reputable dealer. Caution is highly advised.

It looks real to me go to post #14 in this thread to see a fake. I just got one though so I'm no expert.

The same places are also selling fake voyagers that are almost impossible to distinguish from the genuine ones. Be careful because voyagers have been scarce lately.
