Yeah, there's lots of knives im interested in but the blade stock thickness is a deal breaker for me. I like .10" or thinner.
Totally this ; sooo many times.
I finally had an epiphany if only a time consuming hiny chapping one :
I'm a metal worker
I have several belt sanders (see old videos Charlie Mike left for us ! RIP my man ! )
. . . maaaaybe . . . just maaaaybe , if I dunk the blade A LOT and only use the best belts I can find on this planet . . .
YES !
as Gene Wilder said
Ever since I have been buying what ever fatty that caught my eye and making it into something surgeons would covet !
But that's just me (thanks again C. M.)
YMMV
P.S.: you haven't lived until you have used a full flat ground , 1.8mm at the spine 0.010" behind the edge , 12 DPS Gayle Bradley 2 (with original carbon scales of course).
PPS :and my Cold Steel MASTER HUNTER in 3V with similar grind to the Gayle Bradley . . .
Ohhhhh My Gosh !
Ohhhhh My Gosh ! Ohhhhh My Gosh !
Why the thick blades ?
Obvious : so you and I can pretend we are knife makers and spend endless hours of fun F'in with out knives !
It's Natures Way !
Why the thick blades ? Well if it is 3V that is what you want if you are going to work your way through a few cinder bock walls then pound the knife into the last wall as a peg to step on for that final vault over the wall to freedom.
What ? you haven't seen the Giant Mounse 3V video ? Where the dude goes into an abandoned wear house and demolishes it then climbs the telephone pole.
oooooOOOOOHHHHH you are missing out .
alassss I don't do a lot of that . . . any more . . . well this year . . . so far . . . anyway . . .
In defense of thick I bought a Spyderco Techno 2 just because I liked to look at it and thought it would make fun pocket jewelry when ever I knew for certain that there was no chance I would ever need to cut anything that day .
TURNS OUT IT IS A PRETTY IMPRESSIVE AND PRACTICAL CUTTER / NICE EDGE GEOMETRY !
EDITED FOR SPELLING.
