Thick spine folders I'm unware of?

I'm on the market for a "hard use" thick spine folder. I do understand that a thicker spine may decrease the slicing capability a knife offers, however, it's what I'm currently craving and there's no stopping me now. So, I've been diligently searching the forums and Google with the hope of finding a thick-spined folder that spoke to me. I've found a great selection, including: Strider knives, Hinderer knives, Spyderco Lionspy, TSF Beast, DPx Hest, Dalibor Bergam knives, Dervish knives, Grayman knives, Sniper Bladeworks knives, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple more. Here's what I've found: I prefer a 3.5 inch blade and a blade that hides well when closed (narrow in the pocket). The Lionspy was very intriguing, however, it seems a bit to chunky for my pocket. The DPx Hest 2.0 seemed to fit the bill pretty well, except that blade is a little too short and I had terrible problems with the 1.0. The Dalibor Bergam Regulus seems awesome, just wish it had a shorter blade. I also like a pointy, spear point type tip also similar to the Hest, Regulus and Strider knives.

Does anyone have any experience with some lesser known custom knife makers that I haven't mentioned that might make a knife that suits my taste? For comparison, I own a ZT 0560 and a Hogue EX01 4", and I want a thicker blade. Cost is not a factor, I will save for the right blade.

If you have any leads, please share so I can continue my search. Thanks!

I think the new Microtech Socom Elites have a pretty thick spine, and they ride very nicely in the pocket.

The spyderco Delica FFG has a super thick spine ;-) But in all seriousness the ZT300 has a thick spine.

The Spyderco Techno is pretty beefy. Probably doesn't really compare probably to some of the other companies. It's not all that big either.

I believe it was William Woods that made a small run of a huge folder called the Titan a few months ago. He might do something that would suit you. Ray Laconico has been making some pretty good size folders too but I'm not sure they're thicker than the ZT and Hogue though.

Benchmade Adamas and the Sog Vulcan.

Very thick spines.

And HK Conspiracy. .180". Thickest folder I own.

The new Benchmade 300SN. It's 0.130 inches according to specs, so that puts it just a hair over 1/8 inch blade stock.

The Ontario Hossum Retribution 2 should work. The Retribution 1 might be a bit large. They were made in Italy of N690co steel.

Thanks again! I think this thread will serve as a great reference for future blade addicts looking for thick spined folders.

This to me seems to be what you are describing, it may be a bit too small but it's right under 3 1/2" and it's pretty small in your pocket. It's the same blade thickness as the much bulker 0560 so maybe it's not enough for you, but still it's a lot smaller in the pocket.
