As I stay in BUSSE forum longer and longer, gave me the idea thicker the better.

Wow that SH is 5/16 thick! I got a GWLE is bla bla thick! ....so on. I kind of get the coolness of paying a good money for good amount of good steel. But,
is it turely

THICKER the BETTER??

Comes think of it, if the blade is thick, comes to a point that it is too heavy to wack anything or cut things for long hours, reduced the agility, movement...etc. Can someone explain or involve for me to see some response and reaction?.....after all, I still want to have a thick HOGLE!

Yes!!

If Jerry made .50" thick blades, the Hogs would be fighting with one another to be the first to own one.. :D

that isn't really that thick for a heavy chopper.

HI Khukuris are often 3/8"-1/2" (or even thicker) at the spine

What about the Dragon's Fang?

or. . . Why not be the first to custom order the biggest and most expensive Busse ever made? Go for it!

Hahahaha, that sounds like "chi ching"

Ok, i am sorry, got carry away......

i kinda really wanna know if anyone found it is heavy to cut for long hours. Cuz.....non of my Busse are user, and non of my user are as Big as Busse.

I think that all depends on an individuals physical abilities.

A Construction worker who hammers nails all day will have far more stamina for chopping than a 17 year old skinny kid who has never broken a sweat in his life.
The more you use it, the lighter it feels.

What ever happend to that 3/8 SJT Jerry was working on ?
Thats what I want...

Same here, and an Off Duty to go with. I wouldn't mind if my HOGFSH were thicker -- it is actually a very fast blade...
3/8", 1/2", they make em and i'll buy em... fatter=better!

A thick blade is a symbol of strenght, of manhood. Not for everybody - so choose your blade thickness according to your virility. That's why there is a FBM LE. No need to whine, no need to complain. Some people might even call it a phallic symbol with all that that encompasses.

I ordered mine last week.

I always buy the thinnest version possible.

Here in South Australia it is very hot and dry, and every bit of unnecessary weight takes away from how much water I can carry.

An extra 1/16” of INFI isn’t going to save me in the bush, but water will.

INFI is such tough stuff that I get more performance than I could ever need in a reasonable size/weight package.

I would say performance wise, there will not be any difference. As a matter of fact I thinnk that the 1/4 inch thick on 2 nch wide blade is just about perfect. I don't think that 5/16 adds or detracts from performance much and the geometry isn't all that different. 3/8 inch may be a different story but I would not now.

My 1/4 inch BM's perform awesome and I don't think there is a real need for more, but thicker does look cool :D

I have an Off Duty custom shop that is nine mm wide. It DESTROYS! It is the biggest small knife you'll ever handle. I believe two were made, plus a prototype.
