Thanks a lot Achille for so many nice knives ! It's a pleasure and a pain as I see many I could buy in a heart beat. Luckily, age and lazyness prevented me from going there. I would have busted the wallet, for sure. Even being uttermost selective...

Hello!
Thanks for sharing the photos, Achille!

Roland Lannier did not have a stand at the show but, as usual, he organised a meal in his workshop in the evening with French wines, beef ribs and, of course, reviews of his knives!

It was great!

Coutellia 2019 was my first knife show. I had a great time there, despite only getting to experience a few hours of the first day.

I picked up one of Romain Bignon's folders (left-most column, first from the top) while I was there. His knives were some of the most well built and unique at the show, in my opinion. He was also extremely personable; he took time to speak cordially with each person who came by and offered snacks and wine.

I also got myself a CKF Fif23 (and was considering a Cheburkov Russki), even though Russian semi-production knives are probably not what most enthusiasts would be drooling over at a French knife show.

Pfft.

Didn’t see hardly any modern tactical folders there at all. Was this a museum?? Not sure of the point of all those ancient technology dinosaur knives. How do the French even operate with such primitive blade platforms?? How can they respond to tactical threats and engage tangos with such knives?? Are they at LEAST made from modern supersteels? o_O

;)

Seriously, some really nice knives at that show!! Would a loved to been. Were the Douk-Douk or Opinel people there?
