"Thieves", or "what khukuri works best for 'punitive dentistry'?"

Update! Apparently the lowlife scumbags tried the same scam again last night, this time in a different state (but still using an Idaho ID). Luckily my account had already been closed. The thought that there are a handful of fakeNovas out there (each with 2 pieces of fake ID claiming to be me, apparently), trying this scam all around the country, makes me absolutely furious.

What I don't get is why they can't catch these people. What the heck do they use all those cameras for? I bet they'd catch me if I walked into a bank with a claw hammer and ripped all the teeth out of a fakeNova's meth-addled head on camera.

Sorry for the rant, but I am far from pleased right now.

ny just passed a law that puts a credit stop on you-

looks like a royal pain in the ass to do-you have to write every credit review service a letter thats sent registered mail telling them to stop all credit checks in your name-wont be cheap-

My wife had a case of id theft against here which delayed our purchase of our home. The scum lady had racked up a phone bill under my wife's name.

She is quite a peach, this one; a health care worker who stole my father in law's meds while he lay dying. Then she stole enough data on the family to impersonate my wife.
That great old man dying of cancer, lying in a pool of his own filth, while she partied out on the town with his pain meds.

Novadak; get a phone verification for any new credit in your name. All the credit reporting agencies will then deny new credit unless they've verified it with you. My wife had this done.

IN my experience low life ladies are usually surrounded by low life men and you'll need some of us to help you clear the area before you can approach the gal.

Well Hell Nova. How could something like that happen to my second favorite girl next to my Barbie? ;) :)
Sure glad you got your account closed! What about any credit cards you may have, is there any danger with them if any?
The idea of getting a phone confirmation sounds like a good idea. Identity theft is one of our greatest worries and we try to protect everything every way we can. It's a pain in the ass but even using very strong passwords on your PC is a damned good idea!
A strong password includes both lower and upper case letters as well as numbers and punctuation marks such as Peonv~?B95 as an example, very, very, difficult if not impossible to break... :D
Just don't forget or lose your passwords!!!!
We also changed our old strip shredder for one of the new and improved shredders that shreds anything you put into it into little small pieces that are damned nigh impossible to reassemble!!!!  :D

I imagine you've already received some counciling from your bank and have placed fraud alerts with the major credit monitoring bureaus. If not, you should do so immediately.

See http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/con_steps.htm

Yep, I've already registered a fraud alert with the monitoring bureaus. I think I'm also going to file a police report and register with the FTC.

Thanks all for the links, advice, and offers to join my vigilante posse. ;)
