Thin blade stock folders?

Hi all,

After having several folding knives, I think I know what I really want next. It’s something like this.

Blade length: 3.5 to 4”
Blade thickness: 0.1”
Weight: Less than 4 oz
Blade material: Something can have nice polished edge and good retention (maybe M390, ZDP-189, M4, or CTS-XHP)

Liner lock or Frame lock
Preferably a flipper

Kershaw Piston seems close sizewise, so as William-Henry Gentac.

Are there any production or semi-custom knives which may match the above specifics?
Or do I have to go for a custom?

Thanks!

If you can deal with a midlock instead of a liner or framelock, check out the Al Mar Eagle HD. There are a few different special editions with ZDP-189 blades and different colors of G10.

The William Henry Gentac is a beautiful knife. But it's not a flipper, it uses a button lock rather than a liner lock or framelock, and its blade length is only 3.0". If you want a William Henry, the E10 might be closer to what you're looking for.

Spyderco Endura in ZDP-189 or in HAP40 (just released and often compared to M4)

Not a flipper but can be 'flicked' quite easily.

The above mentioned Endura would be a good choice. Also, look at the Benchmade 710. The Knifeworks exclusive is particularly nice. Blade is .12" thick.

ZT 0452 is really close. A touch heavier and a bit thicker blade.

Right, bld522.
I looked up their web site and could not find E10 any more. Is it ceased?

TravisH,

I agree that Endura seems a great knife, but want something thinner this time.

DocT,

It would be perfect if it is a tad thinner!
