Thin bladed folders?

It seems like everything lately is all about the giant super thick prybar type folders lately. Personally, I don't have much use for anything that heavyduty, not in general anyway. I actually prefer the very thin blade, as it just cuts/slices so much better.

What I am wondering is if any of the real high quality folders out there have a thin blade like what I am describing. The Spyderco Centofante III is one of my favorite knives for EDC, and while it is a great knife, I wonder if there are any nicer knives out there with a comparable blade. I'd like a knife with a thin blade like this, but instead of the FRN, steel liner on only one side and pins, I'd like to see something like aluminum or G-10 scales, full steel or titanium liners screw construction etc.

It doesn't need to be anything super awesome or expensive, just a nice quality knife with about a 3" blade that is thin for slicing.

Just for reference, the Centofante III's blade is only 5/64" (~2mm) thick.

So does the knife I am looking for exist?

The Buck Mayo fits that description. Mr. Mayo is a fan of nice useful thinner blades.
Benchmade ritter grip too.

I have been thinking about picking up a mini-grip for a while, that pretty much seals it, I will get one.

Keep the suggestions coming though.

Edit:

By the way, anybody know a site to order the Ritter Grip from online?

Hi Ginshun,

You can find the Ritter at http://www.equipped.org/rsk_mk1.htm

Also, take a look at Cabela's D2 Grip and Mini-Grip at http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...d-link.jhtml.1_A&_DAV=search&_requestid=14108

Here is my Cabela's D2 Mini-Grip

Ya, I was thinking that the Cabelas knife was a better deal after loooking around a little. I can't see paying the extra $30 to get S30V over D2. IMO the only thing that S30V offers over D2 is corrosion resistance. I think D2 might actually hold an edge a little better to tell the truth. The blade on the Ritter does look a little bigger, but that isn't neccessarily any better or worse to me.

unless there is some other difference that I am missing.

the Spyderco Yojimbo has a thin blade and very strong construction and quality.

And the handle is superbly designed.

BM 707 has a .100" thick blade also from the looks of it.

This is good stuff, keep 'em coming

Ka-Bar Dozier designed Thorn. Like carrying a pocket scalpel in D2 steel.

Already got one of those.

Awesome knife. Like I said initially, its not what I would call heavy duty by any stretch, but it slices like no tommorrow.

Just as an asside, it is also about the only folder that I can think of that the blade fits completely into the handle, allowing you to sharpen both sides if you wanted to. Not that I would ever do that.

Al Mar Eagle Talon Ultralight maybe? Trying to find more info on this one myself but it looks like it would make a good slicer.

Those do look pretty cool.

Anybody know exactly what the Al Mar Front Lock is?

Edit: From Al Mars websight.

Eagle Talon has a .10" thick blade and Falcon and Hawk Talons have a .080" thick blade.

Very nice.

I too was going to suggest the Buck/Mayo TNT!! It is an awesome, awesome knife. It makes for an excellent EDC. It is has a thin blade.

These are very, very, good slicers. Blades are thin, and the ones I have are flat ground all the way from back to edge. Gets a wicked scary sharp. Almost as sharp as my Opinels.
