Thin bladed folders?

I got the chance to work on an AlMar Nomad in 05 for a friend of mine that I fabricated a low ride clip for. Awesome knife and a very nice flat ground blade of VG10 steel. Looked like it was pretty thin and that it would be a great slicer too. Probably one of the better knives I had my hands on all year. Very well made and impressive all around.

Too bad Spyderco discontinued the Chinese Lum...always wanted one, but cash and opportunity never came concurrently. the Shabaria was a nice thin bladed sweetie too. I did get one of those. (which was hastily stolen by Mrs. Scissors)

Al Mar Falcon and BM 530 are 2 knives I ordered when I got to looking for thin bladed folders. Wicked cutters.

Cut that out. You're scaring me now.
I know I'll see you hanging out in the Busse forum before not too long!

I don't mean to scare ya! I will hang out in Busse, when I get one ! Hehehehehhehe!!

It is true the Fallkniven U2 has a thin blade, but, I think that the Buck/Mayo is thinner.

If you're looking for scalpel-like performance, rather than just a thin blade, you want a thin edge. The Calypso Jr. ZDP will blow away most everything, and with ZDP steel it is amazing.

Any version of the Calypso Jr. -- the VG-10 or even the 8A version -- will give amazing performance due to a thin blade and very thin edge, but the ZDP version is just astonishing with its super-thin edge (and very hard steel to provide enough strength).

Typically, Benchmade leaves their edge very thick, even on their thinner blades. Can anyone comment on how thick their grips are?

caly jr ZDP is a great thin slicer!

And I didn't mentin it because I don't know if he CAN get a Calypso, Jr. ZDP anymore. I didn't want to tease the poor fellow!! It is INDEED a an excellent thin slicer!! He could always wait for the ZDP Delica!

I'm also going to agree with the Buck Mayo.On a much lower price there's the Benchmade NRA Steigerwalt lockback.Anything by William Henry will have a thin blade too.I'll also mention CRK's Mnandi.

I'll put my vote in for the Buck Mayo, too.

I also like the mini-Ritter Grip. I have one, as well as the Cabelas D2 mini-Grip, but the mini-RSK has a significantly better blade profile for better cutting.
