Thin, Economy, Folder

You say not too expencive. How much is too much?

There is some very nice stuff for a modest price. The Douk-Douk has already been mentioned and I"ll second that. Another very thin knife is the old German K55, sometimes called the cat knife. Thin handle, good carbon steel blade and fits behind your wallet you'll never know its there. About 18.95 at Atlanta cutlery. I've worn out two of them, but it took fourty years.

If Boker still makes the larger of the Titanium thats like a modern version of the K55, only with a thin titanium handle and almost fillet knife thin blade that gets very scary sharp.

Have you looked at the 530 from Benchmade yet? It is a Mel Pardue design with a FRN handle and it is quite thin in the handle area. :D

I have a Case Cheetah lockback that is very thin. A little heavier than some of the synthetic handled knives, as the scales are bone. It was given to me as a gift, but I've seen them in the $50 range. Gotta get used to that little hinged guard, but a very nice knife.

Can't go wrong with the KaBar Dozier for real cheap. The Calypso Jr. is light and small and the sharpest knife I've ever got right out of the box.

Opinel, Opinel, Opinel!!! Can't beat it for the price and it CUTS!!! They are great to customize in order to fit your hand and/or tastes. I carry mine daily in the Army and just bought one for my wife. I like the No. 8 and my wife the No. 6.

Ya, depends what you mean by "economy". If you can afford a Calypso Jr., it is without parallel. The best moderate-priced gentleman's scalpel made.

Have you looked at the new Byrd knives that Spyderco is distributing?
The Cara Cara and the Meadowlark are both under $25.

I plan to buy some Byrds my self pretty soon. Also no one (that I've noticed) has mentioned the most excellent Spyderco Native, or Harpy :D for that Matter. Both would be excellent. :) Also the Camillus Sierras are great INEXPENSIVE knives. Take a look at Boker's Heckler and Koch P2000's they're awesome too :)
