Thin edge tragedy!!!

Here is what happens when the edge is too thin, and it warps during the quench, then a genius tries to straighten it back. This is a 1084 blade, I was working on. I hollow ground it wrong so it was going to /is or will be a shop knife now. The tip was thinned out too much where the thick part of the hollow grind was gone and the thinner part was begginning to appear if that makes any sense.

Future archeologists will declare this the first example of a previously unseen edge geometry.

Or that we were a bunch of pea brained steel grinders, well at least at this archeological site.

This is why some of my bowies end up as neckers :)
Only solution is to re-profile it to thicker steel

A shame, looks like you'd fileworked it and everything. Learning experience... I'm trying to straighten a warped edge right now. I'd probably use the broken blade to commit seppuku if I screwed it up now, there's a lot of work into it already.
