Where can I find a thin fixed blade knife for woods use?
This could be a "bushcraft" knife, but I prefer not to have to spend big $$ on a custom.

I am thinking something along the lines of a kephart or ESEE...but 3/32"

Can you post any suggestions?

The GSO 3.5 is 1/8". Other options would be various scandi designs.
Don't forget the Russell-Green River knives as well.

Mora no 1 and the standard Companion are 2.5mm thick. They cut wood, rope, and game/fish like the devil.

ESEE 3 is only an 1/8" with a full flat grind so most of the blade is fairly thin. Plus its got their warranty, you know if "things" happen...

I'm waiting for the next batch of Bravo 1LT's from Bark River to hit the dealers. I wish dealers would call Mike and ask for more of them.

Old Hickory. You will have to find/make a sheath for it though. And the OH knives are just begging to be customized.

Moras are either .078", .098" or .126". The least expensive ones are also the thinnest ones.

3/32" = .09375"

I would also suggest a Mora Bushcraft Black (carbon). I have also enjoyed my Enzo Trapper in N69co. Another hall of fame bush, forest blade is my Kellam Wolverine, I believe it can be had for 100.00. And if you don't mind spending a little more income, I would highly recommend a Fallkniven S1 Forest knife, it is truly in my opinion a knife that can do all the small tasks, but if need be used to batton wood, and I've felled 5 inch diameter standing dead tree with it. Good luck.

Bushcraft Black is .126" thick, or 1/8".

Mora and Green River have been my most useful blades for hard use. I think those and ones in the same style are the best.
